This place is not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility vehicles, unless you're not going to play or watch the mini golf. I'm sure it is fun if you're able bodied but our experience was not enjoyable due to being misled.
So long story short, if you want to play the golf you need to be able to stand, walk, and use stairs.
Here's my experience as a wheelchair user.
At the front desk I arrived in my manual wheelchair with 3 friends for one of their birthdays. I asked if the courses would be suitable for me to play and was told ye, there's a lift to the lower floor where 2 of the courses are. There is a 3rd course but only accessible by stairs. So we paid for 1 game, to give it a go.
Downstairs we asked at the bar which course they recommend, and they said the Apocalypse course is the best. Unfortunately this was no good for me. 3 of the 9 holes were only accessible by stairs or steps, the rest were still so hard to get around. The edges to each hole are quite tall and very difficult to get a wheelchair onto the course to be able to play. It is also very difficult to get around and between the holes to get to the hole to finish the shots or even to get to the next hole.
I was very disappointed at being sold a game then not being able to play 1/3 of the course, and the rest being extremely hard to get around. We looked at the other course we could have done and saw that it too had steps to at least one hole and would've had similar troubles getting around the holes and into the green of each to play.
To their credit, when I brought this up (after finishing the course so my friends could at least enjoy it), I was referred to the duty manager who apologised and refunded my game, also offering a free drink if I come back (we were leaving at the time, I won't be going back). I explained the issues so I hope they will not sell games to mobility disabled customers...
Read moreHad a really good time here and honestly the rating is more down to I just feel that although the course was fun, there was lots of room for improvement in terms of the holes themselves, more challenging and variety could of been had, it got to feel a bit samey by the end although the change of theme half way through was a nice idea.
We arrived around 4pm on a Tuesday afternoon and went up to the desk to pay, no booking needed it cost £9.50 per adult. I would highly recommend you watch out for deals and offers on as these aren't discussed when you enter and I think the value of the deals is far better than just up front price, but that's on me I should have checked.
Went downstairs to get our balls and putter and while there were asked if we wanted anything to drink. Got a pint and a milkshake both in line with prices we saw in other places.
The atmosphere was quite enjoyable and we didn't have to rush around and took things at our own leisure at this time of day. A handy table on the wall was situated by nearly every hole so you could put your drinks down while playing.
The courses are split into two separate 9 holes with different themes for course 1 and 2 with the apocalyptic theme definitely more to our taste and enjoyment.
Overall I would definitely return as we had a great time, it's just not the best crazy golf we've ever played and for the cost although reasonable could have provided more variety of difficulty within the course. Don't hesitate to go though as you'll...
Read moreStaff were nice enough, so they get an extra star for that. But it was £15 for an hour of pool, and the tables are in horrible condition. The felt is full of holes, lines drawn both ends of the table for some reason. The felt is also loose, in desperate need of replacing. It's not like they can't afford to replace it, charging those prices. When you pay premium by the hour, you expect premium quality. Honestly, most £1 coin operated pub pool tables are far better quality. It should be the other way around.
We also booked crazy golf, and it was so busy, there were more than ten people queueing for most of the holes. Everyone was incredibly drunk too, so it takes them even longer to progress. Spend more time falling around laughing than actually hitting the ball. I'm not trying to be the fun police or anything, perfectly happy for people to get drunk and have a bit of fun, but the venue shouldn't book so many people in at once. It's clearly motivated by greed. At £21 I expected better service. Drinks are also quite pricey.
We did get a refund for the golf. But only after a fair amount of complaining. We would have never paid for it if we knew we'd spend most of the time standing around watching other people play.
Maybe it's nice during more quiet times. But I definitely would not recommend going here on...
