This Miller & Carter at BH2 (Bournemouth) - an entertainment arcade (?) So gaudy and lacking of any soul. But to the restaurant. I don't need to pay 30 odd quid for 2 square inches of steak, or 50 - yes, 50 quid for a stronger bit. Truly awful veggies (just to be clear, I'm a top reviewer on Google and NEVER have I needed to use the phrase 'truly awful' ) - after one bite I left them all. I suppose they were going for 'al dente' but dished-up 'uncooked', and steeped in garlic. I love garlic, but any commentator will concur, too much - and over everything, can be (and was) overbearing. Alongside was a, well, I'm not sure - billed as 'onion loaf' - fried to within an inch of it's (and our, lives). Next up the 'Balsamic Beef Tomato (!?) - you can read all this on the menu. Not a trace of Balsamic - perhaps they meant 'garlic' as, again, as a metaphor for fine dining someone had steeped the single red dot of (cherry sized) tomato in garlic, PLUS . . . . (wait for it) a side bowl "wedge" which is a 1/4 iceberg with some dressing out of a bottle. We asked if the chef could rustle-up a Diane sauce . . . . apparently not. Of course not, what the hell was I thinking? Not enough it seems.

Certainly not “Masters of Steak” unable to cook a “Black & Blue” 12oz Ribeye. In response; I asked for a "black & blue" steak and the server accepted my request, a blue Ribeye was served. I went to see the Chef to clarify, after a discussion as to why they are called "Masters of Steak" he told me that he was unable to cook a "black & Blue" steak, at this point the conversation ended. At no point did I swear, it was another Server near the kitchen that swore . Incidentally , the restaurant was pretty deserted which is another indication of what the locals think. The attitude of " Mark" the General Manager, typifies the sort of establishment they are, he should have been available and discussed the situation with me. Nobody took ownership of my grievance in restaurant. Maybe other Miller & Carters restaurants can cook a steak as you want it. I won't be wasting my money here again. There are far better restaurants in Bournemouth.

Fantastic food and service - one of the best meals I've ever had We went here for a lunchtime Birthday treat for a friend who really fancied steak. Once again Miller and Carter didn't disappoint, it was fantastic! We shared a butchers block plater that had 4 steaks (rump, ribeye and two fillets) plus all the trimmings and a stuffed marrow bone. A lot of components to get right and I can honestly say they nailed the entire table of food... it was perfect. The steaks were all beautifully cooked, the fries were great and well seasoned, the sauces and their famous onion loaf was great. Just to round it off we had two coffees and mini deserts. The chocolate brownie was good, but the creme brûlée was possibly the best one I've ever had. Flavoursome and perfectly executed. Thank you for having us, we'll be seeing you again.

I am giving 3 stars as there were a few issues that stop me giving more. The starter of chicken wings are advertised as hot, I asked the waitress who told me there not really that hot, just a bit of a kick (this suites me as don't do hot and spicy), well to me there isn't even a kick, so not as advertised, not even close. Main course the 7oz rump was 30% fat, 70% actual meat. It was cooked well, medium rare. The chips were undercooked and hard in the middle. The very polite waitress offered to get fresh but I declined as the meal would be finished by the time they came out. The restaurant is lovely inside, staff very friendly. Service was a bit slow, but to be fair it got quite busy in the time I was sat. Would I eat here again, probably not. It wasn't bad but it also had too many issues to be classed as good.

Tried the Bournemouth restaurant on a Wednesday afternoon it was very quiet and the waitress Kasia was very friendly and knowledgeable about the different steaks .Kasia helped me choose the 50 day aged black Angus fillet a very good recommendation..the steak was cooked superbly and the flavour was really good..the onion loaf that came with it was lovely it also came with a wedge of lettuce along with my choice of honey mustard and bacon dressing that was really nice too..I had the beef dripping sauce with the steak and that was a great accompaniment. It didn't take much persuasion to have a dessert so I had the chocolate brownie that was very nice I would certainly would recommend this restaurant and thankyou again to Kasia for a wonderful service.

We visited the branch with our friends as 2 family with 4 kids 2 days ago on Sunday evening after a long try of a booking session as the automated system did not offer any availabilities but my friend managed to get a table online eventually. This seems to be a problem with M&C’s booking system as this was not the first time. Our Nibbles and Starters were all good; however, we had the steaks overcooked. i wish, i had a worse tasting starters or nibbles rather than our steaks as this is the main reason of going to Miller & Carter generally. Here is the photo of my ‘medium ribeye’. my mate has the same issue with his medium-well steak which was nothing less than a well-done.. They kindly offered us new steaks but we did not want to wait for it.
