We recently stayed for a short break with our dog. We used the luggage pick up from the station which worked really well. Unfortunately the weather was awful on arrival, absolutely tipping down with rain, but the chap on the bike duly took our luggage and set off after waiting for the rain to subside a little!|The welcome on arrival at the hotel was great, there's no formal "Reception desk" as such so it's a really nice space to step into. The staff were all friendly and informative.|Our room (No.22) was on the 3rd floor and looking out onto the sea. It was a really light and spacious room. Everything is so new and the decor is relaxing, nice muted tones, you really do want to just sit at the window and take a breath. The windows have blinds as well as curtains, so you can block the sun without losing the view. The bedroom has a small fridge with some fresh milk. Bottles of still & sparkling water are also provided.|The shower room is a little compact & bijou but it works well and, again, is beautifully decorated. There are toiletries supplied - handwash, lotion, shampoo, conditioner and bodywash. |A really nice touch is The Pantry where guests can help themselves - set up in a little area just off of the landing, there are jars of sweets, crisps, popcorn, fruit, homemade cake, cans of drink and carafes to fill with drinking water at the sink there. There are also jars of dog treats too!|What stands out for me is the way this hotel is truly dog friendly. Many hotels say they are but, when you go to book, you find out that your room is separate from the hotel, the dog is not allowed in the main areas and simply tolerated. Not here - we took Ned in to all parts of the hotel (except the restaurant & spa). He was fussed over at every turn, which he thoroughly enjoyed!|The vibe at the hotel is relaxed and friendly. We would definitely retrun and are looking at the one in Bath for...
Read moreI had previously stayed for a night at No 15 GuestHouse Bath and had absolutely loved it, so when looking to book a weekend by the sea I was investigating two of their other hotels in Margate and Brighton. It was for a Bank Holiday weekend and I wasn't sure what might be feasible as it's a busy time, but I was delighted to chat to Jamie at 124 GuestHouse Brighton and discover that there was availability. ||He couldn't have been friendlier when I called (quite late one night when I wasn't sure anyone would be free to speak, but he was - and he was not only super friendly, but hugely kind and generous with his time and advice with my room booking). ||I had already fallen in love with 124 Brighton from all the stunning photos online, but it blew my expectations out of the water when I arrived. From the moment I walked in with my dog Billy I was on cloud 9 thanks to the wonderful warm reception from Jamie and Becky, and the beautiful entrance and lobby area. My room exceeded all my dreams too - styled uniquely and individually with class, charm, cosiness and character, and a view looking out to the sea front that I shall never forget. The sun first thing in the morning was out of this world, and watching it set in the evening was simply breathtaking. ||On top of the exceptional room decor, there was also a stunning bathroom and a super cute dog bed for Billy (plus some instantly-devoured treats!). ||Throughout our 3 day stay we felt so at home and looked after - a world class team, delicious food, a brilliant wine list, fantastic atmosphere and just all round outstanding from start to finish on every level. ||I cannot wait to go back again and again, and cannot thank Jamie and all the team at 124 for everything they did. ||The GuestHouse family has an extraordinarily special DNA flowing through its hotels and I am forever...
Read moreNo.124 is a seaside retreat where every detail whispers quiet luxury from record players in the rooms to cocktails in library-like lounges.
The rooms are beautifully curated, with soft lighting, plush bedding, and just the right balance of character and calm. It feels like someone designed a sanctuary, then handed you the key. The kind of space where you drop your bags, put on a record, and let the city fade away.
Beyond the rooms, there’s a snack lounge for when you want comfort at odd hours. A bar dressed like a private library, where cocktails are best enjoyed with a good conversation. Lounges with board games a garden with glass-roofed and full of light, equally suited for lazy mornings or elegant events. On the terrace, the smell of wood-fired pizza lingers in the air and downstairs, a spa quietly waits, ready to restore.
But what truly sets No.124 apart is the service. It’s the invisible kind attentive without being obvious, thoughtful without being overbearing. Every detail feels looked after, leaving you with a rare sense of ease. And despite its prime spot on the seafront, there’s a quietness here that feels almost hidden away. I came for a solo trip and Diego at the front desk was a lovely human providing recommendations and conversation.
No. 124 is the kind of place that makes you want to slow down, sink in, and stay a...
