So long as you're just interested in a short climb to take in some great panoramic views of the area, this is a brilliant trip out for the casual walker who doesn't mind a hill. Ideal for someone who just wants to get outdoors but without it taking a full day of hiking to get there. Make your way up to the top from Corbar road up through Corbar woods and if you want you can carry on in a north easterly direction across the hills to bring you down at the lightwood reservoir area and come back via lightwood road to make it a short circular route. Not for people who are expecting a cafe at the top or anything like that but a great place to take your own picnic in the...

Nice place and beautiful view over Buxton and part of the National Peak District park. It is a nice walk from the town centre which can take up to 30 minutes and you can do it in the town shoes. Not need to have walking boots. Up the top would be great a seat but you can sit on the edge and relax while watching cows and...

Good views across Buxton & beyond & a lovely walk up through the woodland. But the cross itself is a bit of an anticlimax. Not even a tiny plaque, let alone an information board about it or what you can see.
