An absolutely brilliant first experience at Casa Bella 🇮🇹⭐️
We visited today for a Valentine’s lunch (14th February), I had booked a table for 12pm just in case - there was no necessity to book a table but I can imagine at night times and on weekends booking would be a good idea!
As soon as we entered we were greeted in a very friendly way by the staff, we were taken to our table and given the lunch menu which has a great selection.
The decor is stunning, a very modern yet cosy space that is ideal for date nights or special occasions, the chairs are also really comfortable.
We received our drinks (2X pints of Pepsi Max), these were really delicious, nice and cold.
The main event, the food…
My partner ordered the spaghetti bolognese, I ordered the meat feast pizza with added mushrooms and we got a bowl of chips to share.
My pizza was divine, full of flavour and plenty of toppings. A lot of places can skimp on the toppings but not Casa Bella! I literally could not fault the pizza.
My partner said the spaghetti bolognese was lovely - great flavour and texture. She also really liked the fact that she got given a little bowl of Parmesan so she could add it as she wished instead of having it put on by a member of staff.
The chips were great too! Very crispy but fluffy inside, a generous portion size too for the price.
There were also two little complimentary love heart chocolates that arrived with the bill, a nice touch for Valentine’s Day and they were actually really delicious!
I wish we were hungry enough to try the gelato, the flavours looked outstanding and will definitely have to make room next time we visit.
All in all, Casa Bella is a must visit if you’re in the market for a classy yet cosy Italian restaurant and the staff really make the experience relaxed and enjoyable.
I look forward to returning if this first experience is...
Read moreWe walked past Casa Bella on thursday, our first day in Keswick and thought it might be a nice place to eat so went back in the evening but it was packed, we were offered a table in the bar area but declined. But before we left we decided to book for saturday which was our 39th wedding anniversary and the reason for our 3 day break in Keswick. On arrival for our 7.15 booking on the saturday we were shown to a 4 seat table in the bar area and the waiter removed 2 sets of cutlery. 😮 Had we been advised this at the time of booking we may have declined again, but we are not people who create a fuss so we just got on with it. It wasnt the most authentic italian restaurant we have dined in and the menu was quite limited but we both chose the italian beef pot roast and have to say it was delicious. As we sat dining I saw two chaps come in for a table on spec and they were shown into the restaurant😯 soon after another couple who had clearly made a booking were shown to a table next to us only just vacated by two ladies, the man was clearly not happy about being in the bar area although not animated in any way and asked about going in the restaurant but the waiter said there wasnt room and made a joke about the food tasting better in the bar area🤦 Soon after the gentleman went into the restaurant, presumably to see for himself and upon his return asked again but was still without any luck, Im not sure when he had made his booking but it clearly spoiled his experience to have to sit in the bar area and to some extent it had ours too. Its a poor show to make a booking two days in advance and be stuck in a dingy corner away from...
Read moreWe were visiting the Lakes (not our first time but still getting to know Keswick) it was our anniversary so I booked a table weeks in advance for four of us.
When we arrived they didn't seem to have set a table for us a lady behind the bar shouted over to the young guy some directions as to where to sit us. I can't remember the exact sentence she used but it was something like "not on a ...." and the guy shouted it back just to make sure he had got all the info. It all just sounded very negative and the way they were just shouting to each other lowered the tone of the restaurant instantly.
We were then sat on a tiny table next to an old rusty, metal bookcase thing used for all the sauces and extra napkins etc. There were lots of free tables around us. My husband asked about the table and the guy just said that's all we have and walked off.
The food for three of us was amazing (but it was pizza so not that tricky but very nice pizza) but I just chose wrong and my pasta was too spicy but that was my bad.
The host was lovely, going around chatting to all the guests and taking pictures - lovely very friendly, great host. We had take away three hills ice cream after which I think is the best ice cream EVER! And so we came back many times for just that. I was really looking forward to spending my anniversary in Keswick and I love Italian food but this restaurant really...
