Having previously attended a children’s birthday party here (& loved it) we decided to do the same for our boy on his big day.
The set up is ideal, if you’re booking the Aquapark activity, you can opt to have use of the party room which is a good size for around 15 kids, with a few extra chairs and tables around the edge of room to place party items and for mums & dads to sit.
The room is painted white and is an ideal blank canvas to dress up according to your theme. The large window looks out onto the water creating a nice backdrop.
The staff here are all fantastic! Super knowledgeable and professional yet incredibly friendly. Mark, Bren & Alex are a brilliant team and you can tell they love their job and their environment, they feel very much ‘part of the furniture’ here, in a good way! They really elevated our experience of the centre and made us feel so welcomed and comfortable.
We felt that the children were very safe under their guidance and whilst they were given all the necessary safety measures, they were also encouraged to have fun.
We really appreciated being allowed to get there a little earlier to decorate the room. They opened up and left us to it but were on hand for anything we needed.
We ordered pizza delivery for all the children which was a great idea pinched from the previous party we attended! For reference, we used Dominos on London Road, they have delivered here several times so they will be familiar with the set up (just a tip if you don’t fancy making food - the kids loved it).
There is a cafe that occupies a space at the centre (FIKA) where, should you want to chill whilst the kids are in the water, you can get a cuppa and some cake. This place is a separate business but still feels very much a part of the centre and on each visit here, the staff have been absolutely lovely. Very friendly and helpful.
There’s lots more than just the Aquapark at Liverpool Watersports Centre, including kayaking, paddle boarding, open swimming, sailing. It really is a gem of a place and worth noting that they are a charity. Be aware that the Aquapark activity goes into hibernation over the autumn and winter months, due to weather changes but call to check.
All in all, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend Liverpool Watersports Centre...
Read moreWent today for the first time with my boys (7 & 11) whilst my partner, recovering from giving birth to our 3rd sat out and watched over a biscoff iced coffee ( which I believe was thoroughly enjoyed).
I’ll be the first to admit, water is not my friend, and never has been. I was so nervous deep down when approaching, but excited for the experience at the same time.
It was meant to be me and my 7 year old to one kayak and my 11 yr old to another. However, when I got in and sat down. This massive anxious feeling came over me as I looked out to the open water. Bren, however was a fantastic knowledgeable host and calmed my nerves within seconds.
He got a more secure boat which sat 8. Nothing was too much for the guys and they were a great reassurance for us.
Once out in the dock/ open body, with the sun glistening off the water, the experience became magical and I felt safe. I did not feel we were unsafe and just entered a sense of calm and serenity.
About 30mins in, I just smiled to myself as I realised, this is the first time me and my boys have worked so well as part of a team. I was proud of them as we all got to grips with our Orr’s and how to use them.
Thank you to all at Liverpool water sports for your hospitality. I already want to come back tomorrow and would recommend this to everyone. Don’t let fear come between you and this...
Read moreSo impressed with this place- I’ve found a new hobby! From the great price, to the helpful and cheery staff, to the ease of getting kit, then into the water, but most of all the unforgettable experience of kayaking from dock to dock in such a great city on your doorstep.
The prices are so competitive and value for money. Booking online was simple. Parking was easy to find, secure and free. We hired wetsuits that were a great fit and had been cleaned before our use, we changed in an outdoor pop-up tent which was only used by bubbles of people at a time and just wore tight swim/ gym clothes underneath.
The staff were so knowledgable and immediately put our minds at rest about not having Kayaked before or for a long time. We were told about how far to go and what the water would be like as well as some tips for moving around and then we were off in a matter of minutes!
Kayaking was such a rush, the views are incredible and it was just wonderful to see the city from the water, we went through 3 docks then into the Albert Dock with complete ease but had our work cut out coming back against the wind- all good fun! I didn’t want to leave and booked on to an open water swimming session the moment I got home.
Can’t wait to go back and try something else!
Thank you for having us!
