As you enter Bricklain Market, you are immediately greeted by a lively atmosphere filled with the sounds of vendors calling out their offerings, the aroma of delicious street food wafting through the air, and a colorful array of goods displayed in every direction. The market is a feast for the senses, with vibrant textiles, sparkling jewelry, and intricate crafts catching your eye at every turn.

You begin your exploration by wandering through the narrow lanes lined with stalls and shops. The friendly and passionate vendors eagerly engage with you, sharing stories about their products and offering recommendations. They speak of the local traditions, craftsmanship, and the history behind each item, making the experience not just about shopping but also about cultural exchange.

You find yourself drawn to a stall displaying beautifully handcrafted pottery. The vendor, a skilled artisan, invites you to try your hand at pottery-making. With their patient guidance, you mold the clay and create a small masterpiece to take home as a keepsake. It's a unique and personal souvenir that will forever remind you of your time in Bricklain Market.

Moving on, you stumble upon a stall selling exotic spices. The air is filled with a symphony of scents as you sample the aromatic spices, guided by the vendor's expertise. They share recipes and cooking tips, inspiring you to try new flavors and recreate the tastes of the region in your own kitchen.

As you continue to explore, you come across a food section brimming with local delicacies. Stalls offer an enticing variety of street food, from sizzling kebabs and savory pastries to tropical fruits and freshly squeezed juices. The flavors explode in your mouth as you savor the authentic cuisine, immersing yourself in the local gastronomy.

Between the stalls, you encounter a talented street performer entertaining the crowds with mesmerizing music. The infectious rhythm and energy compel you to join in, clapping your hands and tapping your feet. The market becomes a lively stage for impromptu performances, where locals and visitors alike come together to celebrate the vibrant spirit of the city.

As the day draws to a close, you find a cozy corner café tucked away in a quiet part of the market. You relax with a cup of aromatic local tea, reflecting on the wonderful experiences and treasures you've discovered in Bricklain Market. The warmth of the surroundings and the memories made leave you with a profound sense of fulfillment, knowing that you've truly immersed yourself in the vibrant culture of the city.

Bricklain Market offers a positive and enriching experience for tourists, where they can engage with local traditions, savor authentic flavors, discover unique crafts, and create lasting memories. It's a place where the spirit of the city comes alive, leaving visitors with a deep appreciation for its culture and a desire to return...

Some of the best curry houses in London and restaurants of all types. Great Sunday Market for gifts, vintage stuff, and streetart and food. Bars and cafes, all independently owned. I love Brick Lane.

From the south side walking northerly, you start with the un-gentrified, unpretentious bit. Then, as you walk north, you get into the heart of the curry focused bit. Further north is the Truman Brewery Bridge, where things start to get very hipster-ish. And way North is the Jewish bagel shops that are legendary here, and open 24 hours a day.

Just off Brick Lane is a new gallery from famous local artists called The Gilbert and George Centre. I love those guys. A paradox of personality, performance, art and obsurdity, their art is my kind of crazy.

There's so much more to the street than any review could give. You just have to be there to see it.

I recommend trying it on a Sunday daytime, for the market and a street food light lunch, then a bit of art spotting on the street and the G&G centre or Salavador Dali art projector show, then dinner at the Famous Curry Bazzar or other authentic curry places. And a drink at the traditional English pub called The Golden Heart nearby or the Pride of Spitalfields pub,...

Brick lane is a cosmopolitan intense electrifying location, filled with great food and bars seeped in history. My favourite shop in brick lane is the bagel shop which is world famous and open throughout the night. After a rave you can always grab a cheese bagel or a bag of plain bagels for Sunday breakfast. If you love curry you will find some of the best curry houses in london on this road. I love this area not just for the food but for the beautiful expressions of art 🖼 on walls on and around brick lane itself. If you go into my Instagram page you can see many examples of the amazing free street art. “@PatrickJacobsPhotographer” you can see places like the Truman brewery loads of unique fashion, loads of leather goods which along with the curry is what I remember brick lane for but now it’s a lot more trendy and attracts a...
