Been local here for years and decided to give it a try for the first time with my boyfriend
I don’t understand how a place can mess up Chinese food this badly. I’d give 0 stars if I could
Ordered 5 different stuff and not a single thing was good
Chicken and sweetcorn soup - poured this down the toilet. Showed my mum and even she was grossed out. It’s just water with boiled chicken. No broth no vegetables, nothing.
Egg fried rice - keep in mind it had no peas. The DRIEST rice I’ve ever tried. Even at the bottom of the container, still dry as hell. Very very dry
Thai green chicken curry - this dish in other places is generally mild-medium spice. This one was straight up atomic and legitimately inedible. Even my boyfriend who has a very high spice tolerance even struggled with this. There’s no flavour. Just spice. Impossible to eat.
Chinese curry prawns - the best out of all but still so generic and basic. Lacked flavour and sauce was too watery. They’re generous with the prawns so that’s a plus, but just bland
Salt and pepper wings - weird rubbery texture, and not worth the £8 for 4 small wings. At least make it 6
The workers aren’t even Chinese. Avoid this place and save your money. They can’t even make egg...
Read moreDon’t know what has happened to this “Chinese” (if you would even call it that) … you can buy meal deals and Chinese food from Tesco just behind this place, and it would no doubt turn out better quality and taste than this dump of a place ….
Hong Tin used to be a lovely favourite when they had the previous management/staff! Now I’m not sure who has taken over, but they need to close ASAP and stop robbing peoples money with their poor attitude and kitchen staff!
As other reviews have stated, most of their menu has now been reduced, and what they do serve is poor quality and taste - and at a hefty price
E.g: a special fried rice used to be a favourite for us - NOW - a special fried rice costs more money yet only includes mainly dodgey prawns, and chicken that tastes as if it’s off and has you questioning is it even chicken!?!? Not too sure what is so “special” about this fried rice anymore, and to be quite honest it tastes like pure RUBBISH, aswell as the rest of the menu!
Anyway, main point being guys & girls, PLEASE, when hungry, PICK...
Read moreHaving recently turned vegetarian, I decided to find the very best stir fry mixed vegetables and egg fried rice in this part of London.
I have been getting the same thing since last Saturday and it's now Friday so that's 7 orders of stir fry mixed vegetables and egg fried rice.
Firstly every other place pretty much charged the same for vegetable dishes as they did for meat dishes so I felt a little cheated.
Here the vegetable dishes are priced fairly according to their own cost which makes them MUCH cheaper than everyone else.
And to top it off, the cost of the food in no way reflected the quality or portion size as both were spot on!
Other Chinese takeaways take heed. You have to stop charging the same price for vegetable dishes as all you are doing is ripping people off. Thank god for the Honk Tin which is now going to be my regular.
All in all, the food was delicious and even the egg fried rice was the best I tried out of...
