Acropolis Greek Restaurant — Restaurant in London

I used to consider Acropolis as the best souvlaki place in London by far, as well as the closest one to the "real thing" back home. I have been a customer for a couple of years and the quality and size had been pretty much consistent.

However, upon ordering last night after some time, we were thoroughly disappointed. The gyros was tasteless and colourless, and we couldn't tell if it was actually pork or chicken. We couldn't even eat it properly, as the wrapping was completely loose in 2 out of the 3 pita wraps. Perhaps there has been a change in management or employees, and I am conscious that it was a late evening order, but the end result was a far cry from the past, so I would refrain from ordering again (at least in the near future).

I used to have tale aways from this place.I have been also few times there The service and atmosphere are good,what I found different was the food in terms of quality .They had a great very good spannakopita triangular shape,since they change in square ones the taste is not the same,the square one was soggy and not crispy on top and not tasty at all,then I choose then mixed gyros ,and chicken gyros,I have loved their gyros but last time I have been there the gyros sauce was not good the taste was weird.I am so sorry to write this review but I hope it helps you guys to have the to take back the good ingredients you have always had because since last 3 months I don't know what has changed but your food is not...

A nice "gyros" type cafe, of a similar standard to the better such establishments in Greece. Staff were actually Greek, as were all of the customers (apart from me). It serves grills (gyros, sovlaki etc.) cooked to order. I selected the loukaniko (Greek "country-style" sausage) and bifteki (burger), both of which were pretty good and were served with good "greek-style" chips. However, I had intended these to be two courses, but both arrived on the same plate (not a big issue - this has happened to me SO many times in Greece). The cafe is clean, light and well kept, and service is prompt and friendly. As I will shortly be going on my annual six-week holiday to Greece, this cafe was nice preparation...
