Went to the ideal home exhibition. It was a good day out, but every now and then, you would see the same stall in 3 different places. Long gone are the freebies. There were some original things never seen before, but most items already advertised online via other social media platforms. The food hall was great, a good variety catering for all. The show house was very disappointing and they were used to have several show houses, now its just one.. I went many years ago & I know times have changed, but the ideal home was a place for uniqueness and you came away with a little bag of goodies, not any more, the variety wasn't there and I just feel like it didn't deliver...
   Read moreVisited Ideal Home. 3 stars because for some reason it closed at 5pm on the Friday we visited. We arrived at 1.30 and after viewing most things arrived at food Hall at 4.45pm. Some food stalls already closed and most starting to clear as they were told had to finish dead on 5pm. After sitting to eat at 4.50, at 5pm security coming around informing us of closure and hurrying us up. Not a good end to visit. On the exhibition pretty much as usual, queues to go in show house, if we had tried to see this we would not have had time to even enter food hall, let alone get something to eat.    Read moreGreat venue, easy to get to but it's currently having building work around the outside so you come out of the train station and have to walk around the whole building to get to the entrance now as nearest entrance is in the building site. The lifts were being serviced so not great for the infirm but we were fine going up two sets of stairs. Great atmosphere for the ceramics exhibition and nicely cosy for such a big venue. All staff were great and facilities were good. Food vendors were good but expensive, but hey that's pretty standards for these...
