This was a birthday present to my other half. The venue itself was really cool, easy to find (even though Google maps was saying a strange route). The presentation was great although sat at the back it was a little hard to hear due to the bar being right next door. The Wines were okay, not the best and the food platters were amazing....just so AKWARD. As you were sharing the boards with other people, no one wanted to start first and on our table there were 2 boards but one had substantially less but we weren't told how many is for each board. We also had no small plates. This would be my only suggestion is to do smaller boards per party and with side plates.

Went there for company Christmas party menu was sub-standard not much options for vegetarian or non meat eaters. I had the salmon on crackers for starters which was very small but nice and for mains seabass seared and prawn risotto. Very bland taste and the rice was not cooked properly. I was looking forward to the dessert which was the salted caramel chocolate torte...didn't eat it as the pastry was hard and not edible the salted caramel was only sauce that was used to keep the torte from moving on the plate and chocolate was a harden moose. Staff were very nice which was the only saviour otherwise don't think I will be going there again 😔

The Fable was an amazing spot! Their Bees Knees cocktail was delicious. Tried the sourdough bread and the chorizo scotch egg for appetizers. The bread came out nice and hot and the egg was amazing. For the main, I got the fish pie with a side of their gnocchi "mac & cheese." Both came out blistering hot and were very good. Just needed a pinch of salt but other than that, fantastic. Nice ambiance with fast and attentive staff. Good time at a reasonable price. I hope this helps anyone trying to make a dinner decision. Cheers!

The Fable is the most recent restaurant to be opened in the capital by Drake & Morgan who seem to specialise in theatrically themes from botanical and secret gardens to fairytales which is the chosen theme at The Fable. To be honest while it was very nice I found it a bit lacking and it could have used a little but more to give it that extra boost into something magical.

The hardest part was deciding what to have to drink! The cocktail menu here is huge with some really inventive names. I went for the Skinny Russian Rose Martini; Smirnoff Black vodka stirred with Kwai Feh lychee liqueur, ginger syrup & garnished with a rose petal which both sounded and looked amazing but sadly didn’t have the taste to match. It was very strong and left a bitter taste in my mouth afterwards so I was disappointed.

For main course I went for the special cod which if I remember correctly came with creamed leeks and mussels. This was absolutely flavoursome and I enjoyed every bite. The cod was cooked to perfection flaking beautifully with a fork and the mussels really added to it. The sauce was incredible, not too thick and didn’t overpower the fish. I finished the entire plate along with half a portion of sweet potato fries – which came in a super cute flowerpot – as well.

Undecided on what to have for pudding I went for the Mini pudding shots a smaller version of three of their most popular desserts; chocolate brownie, wagon wheel & Winterberry crumble. When they came out I was amazed at the size, these were no teeny tiny puddings but instead three sundae glasses with half-sized desserts.

I’m not a huge fan of hot fruit so tried the crumble first and really wasn’t enamoured with it. I’m not sure what kind of berries were used but they were quite bitter although the vanilla ice cream was the proper stuff made with pods and delish.

The Wagon Wheel was probably my favourite which is strange given how much I love chocolate and was looking forward to the brownie but more on that in a bit. The Wagon Wheel consisted of toasted meringue, raspberry sorbet, shortbread and chocolate sauce all of which worked really well together although I think I would have replaced the sorbet with a raspberry ripple ice cream. The toasted meringue was the highlight for me it was squishy like marshmallow and very sweet. An all round winner for this one and my recommendation of the three.

The final pudding was the chocolate brownie which came with another scoop of the delicious ice cream but sadly the brownie itself tasted burnt even though it looked fine and was overly bitter so I didn’t enjoy it much.

The service unfortunately wasn’t great for us. We asked for tap water which never arrived we waited almost half an hour for our second round of drinks (which weren’t even cocktails) then we had to wait an age for the bill too. I think we were an anomaly though as there were plenty of groups who were there for lunch who were in and out before we were so maybe we were just unlucky. The whole thing came to just over £80 including tip for the two of us which was quite reasonable and I didn’t have to eat anything else for the rest of the day I...

Very disappointed with how me and my girlfriends were treated. We booked a table for brunch on a Sat. The minute we sit down a guy (who we assume is the manager) asks us for our ID. We told them that we were not ordering alcohol and just food, but he kept being very aggressive and asked us for our ID because we looked under 18 when all of us are in our mid 20s, dressed very business casual. His reasoning was that because alcohol was served there and apparently in the air he had to check. I felt uncomfortable and disrespected with his aggressive attitude. He treated us absolutely unprofessional. He even said that he wouldn't mind us leaving if we won't show us our IDs, which we were going to if the weather that day wasn't pouring. The restaurant was empty and not even during their peak hours. So I assumed that he just didn't want us there. Other girls who were around our age he didn't seem to bother checking their IDs.

I'm from the states and I NEVER had this experience anywhere back home or here at a brunch place. I don't have a problem showing my ID when I am ordering alcohol but coming up to us asking for our IDs aggressively when no one has even glanced at the menu is very off-putting and just rude. If this place requires an ID to be checked why not have it on their website? Why are there children present if IDs have to be checked to eat?? Not welcoming at all for all ages and/or people.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Food was not even that great either, they didn't even get our orders correct. There are plenty of other brunch places that deliver better service and food quality,...

Absolutely appalled by the customer service here at the Fable. Was told by one of your staff members Olivia that an area was booked and that we had to move off the table in that area even though there was definitely no sign saying the area was reserved (there was another couple sitting in the area too and they confirmed there was no sign too). By the time we were told this the bar was very very busy and there wasn’t even any standing room, yet we weren’t given any option than “get up and move”. I asked to speak to the manager and Olivia redirected me to another lady (apologies I can’t remember her name but she was in a white top and had blonde hair). I explained that I thought the initial communication by Olivia was quite rude, we were just told to move and that we must have moved the reserved signs because they were definitely there before! The manager initially apologised for this, but as I continued my point that her team should have come up to us prior to kicking us off our seats to say it was booked and we need to move in 5/10mins, she got more and more annoyed and eventually said she wasn’t going to talk to me anymore and walked off!!! I think basic customer service for kicking someone off their seat with no prior notice is to offer an alternative seat or if no seats are available a compensatory drink. I come to the Fable quite often and even book quite big work parties there considering we are so close by; I don’t think I will be doing this going forward I would appreciate a response on...
