I loved my kayak tour with The Pirate Castle 🏰🛶 It's a great charity working with young people in Camden and beyond to promote better life chances and healthier living. The walls nearby are covered in gang tags. Gangs prey on younger people in the area and an aim of The Pirate Castle is to help move them away from gangs and into activities on the canals, forming friendships and 'gangs' they can be proud to belong to. If you're looking for something different to do in London I'd highly recommend their tour, and a bonus is you're supporting their great work too 😊

My daughter had the most incredible experience canoeing with Pirate Castle From start to finish, the staff were so welcoming, encouraging, and supportive. She came away with a huge smile on her face, full of confidence, and proud of what she had achieved. It was more than just canoeing—it gave her the chance to build resilience, try something new, and make special memories. As a parent, I’m deeply grateful for the kindness and care shown by everyone involved. Thank you for creating such a positive and inspiring environment for young people.

I highly recommend the Pirate Castle services for private boat tours. I booked the Black Pearl for a private 2h cruise on the canal with a group of friends. Price is reasonable compared to other businesses, and service is above expectations! Our skipper was lovely, and we were able to bring food and drinks aboard, we could also play music. A great way to celebrate my birthday!

I booked this venue for my pilot Bootcamp for 2 Saturday 3 weeks in advance. When I arrived at the venue for the second date, i was met by my Bootcamp group outside and found that the main hall that i had booked and paid for was occupied by another group of people who were throwing a birthday party. When I went to enquire about the issue, i was confronted by a rather scruffy looking man who said he was the duty manager. When I asked about the hall i was met with a barrage of shouting and verbal abuse and accused of lying regarding the booking and he refused to look at my invoice which proved that i had booked and paid for the main hall. I was then rudely presented with an ultimatum to either leave or take the games room which was overheated, dirty and unsafe for group exercise, due to the fact that my clients had already paid for the class, i had no choice but to take the room to avoid disappointment. This has left me frustrated and upset because the soul purpose of me booking this venue was for location and the passed reputation it held in the community. I believed that theses things would contribute to my vision of holding a cost effective bootcamp that would encourage health and wellbeing in the Camden community. Unfortunately i would not recommend this as a reliable venue as the staff are very unorganised and...

Took a group of secondary school aged boys (Yr 7 & 8) Great location, close to shops and other places to visit, great fun as it was the first time Kayaking for most. The staff where great and helpful, try'd to engage and motivate the kids as much as possible (not always easy). I like the fact we where allowed to do Kayaking in the morning session and then the Bell boat (team work needed) in the afternoon. Loved that Myself and fellow worker could join the activities, sharing the experience and risk of ending up in the canal (LoL!) with our kids was great. Staff done some games and challenges which were fun. Would have been good to have some table tennis balls at lunch time (obviously we where there to Kayak, so cant complain about that) Will definitely take my son when hes 8 and some of my nieces and nephews. For the price (summer camp) it would been expensive for some families but they do offer a concession price for lower income households. Thanks "The...

This was our company day out and unfortunately it got ruined. Let's start with the fact that upon our arrival, the only member of staff present was already in a kayak leaving with other client. When a while later someone else turned up, we were asked to leave the premises (!) and come back later. Once in the water, there wasn't that much entertainment or instruction. The staff were clearly disorganised and most likely irritated, because they were not particularly pleasant to be around, especially a guy called Mike who just kept shouting. Everything was just chaotic. Overall experience was not great, which is a shame because it could have been...
