Volcano Falls Adventure Golf, Xscape Milton Keynes — Attraction in Milton Keynes

Really disappointed with todays service - I’ve been here a few times for the golf but today we pre-booked the karaoke room for a friends birthday. We had a 50 minute slot at 5pm - we arrived on time and somebody else was already using it and we had to wait a further 25 minutes, we were told this wouldn’t affect our time in the booth. We enjoyed our session but it cut off after 20 minutes and so I notified a staff member and asked if they could sort out the timer for us as we hadn’t had our full session. They kept us waiting another 5 minutes before someone came over and explained what had happened. They were fully booked and so couldn’t offer for us to do a later time - not sure if they gave part of our slot away to a walk in but this impacted our time and all they offered was some free drinks when we paid £45 for the session and travelled all the way to Milton Keynes. Manager + Staff weren’t very apologetic and said they needed to watch cctv first to check timings before issuing a refund (strange when we’ve spoken to staff who would’ve seen us arrive at 5pm to the check in desk) not sure if they would’ve treated every customer like this, they only offered us half of our money back. This is really poor customer service and they didn’t go above and beyond to rectify this - they could’ve issued a full refund or offered another free session to come back. We arrived today for two games of golf, first course was lovely and quite which surprised me for a Sunday. However the second course was not enjoyable at all. It was the 'carnival course' upstairs. As we walked upstairs two kids pushed through the three of us. Then there was approx. a group of 10 young kids.

We started on the empty course, only for these lads to be running around us. A staff member did tell them they needed to start at hole one and play the course through but after this it was like that staff washed their hands of them, and not a parent in site. They were pushing on to our holes, and as we were about to move on to our next, they jumped Infront of us, and kept playing the same hole until we politely asked them to let us take our turn.

I understand this type of place might be perfect for a young lads birthday party, but i think they should have maybe closed the course for 20-30 minutes for them to play, but should also be adult supervision for them.

It was a shame as we had lovely 5* experience on the first one, but the second course made you want to put your clubs down on the 4th hole and walk out the building.

We came with the family for a game of mini golf, some pizza, a few drinks, and ice cream. Everything was good — the mini golf with drinks was especially interesting. However, we were scammed. When paying for the ice cream, the staff member said after a while that the payment hadn’t gone through because they were having some WiFi issues. On top of that, I was initially charged for only one ice cream instead of two. I showed the bar staff that the payment had already been taken from my account, after which a second employee came over and insisted that the blocked amount would be released. To be honest, I didn’t fully believe him, but I didn’t want to make a scene in front of my family over £5.95, so I paid again — this time for two ice creams. Of course, a week later I checked the payment and saw that it had gone through normally the first time. I’m still wondering whether this was a deliberate action or just pure incompetence on the staff’s part. The fact is, I was happy before buying the ice cream, but I left extremely irritated.
