Bally's Casino Newcastle — Attraction in Newcastle upon Tyne

Entered the premises with the intention of becoming a member. Went to the counter to begin the process in which I had to show, obviously, my ID which turns out o be a European Driving licence as I’m not from the UK. That ID had been rejected and I offered to show another piece of ID which I clearly stated to be in my own language, Spanish, as well as stating that it was as valid as the passport as I can travel inside Europe without having to use my passport. That ID was also rejected because it’s not British, which to my understanding is discrimination. I politely asked why they could not take it and the staff “Kai” replied in a rude manner saying that they just can’t accept it as it’s not in English. My partner and I obviously got upset as we believe that is racism, and we showed that we were not happy. Kai tried to insult my partner, but I had to stop him after he had threatened to put security on us to be removed of the Building. We peacefully left and decided to come back a few hours later. I tried to register again when there was another member of staff, however Kai showed up and snatched the paper out of my hands and involved the manager in. When my partner tried to speak to Kai in a civil manner, Kai was very agressive and rude in front of the manger “Christine”. She decided to go and check the CCTV recordings, and when she came out she banned my partner from the premises and walked us to the door. I would like to say I am extremely disappointed with this casino and the way we have been treated. This is not the first time they lie about CCTV recordings as my Dad, who has been a member for a long time, was stolen £100 apparently due to one of the staff not being aware of his bet and putting the money down.

My advice to anyone going there, watch your back. Be smart with your money and your words, as every little action they’ll take it to either rip you off or kick you out. I went in last night and signed up , the woman behind the counter did not know anything about eye contact and hospitality but she did manage to quickly get me registered , after that i went into the poker room . , the staf seemed as if they were bored of being there , there was no excitement in the air . I asked to buy some chips to play a little bit of cash while i waited for others to meet up . I was told that they do not allow too many £1 chips on the table , its house policy . I thought to myself WTF is she talkin about , I work at The Taj Mahal in AC and what the player wants in chip numerations the player gets , after all the casino is charging a rake for them to play so why would it be a hassle to let them buy the chips that they want , unless this is a small casino and do not carry enough chips , which in that cae shouldnt even be open . I changed my mind and did not play , my friends arrived and we had something to eat from the restaurant , this was the highlight of the evening , the meal was great . I think the poker room needs a good manager in place , and yes i seen how the players looked dress wise and it was unprofessional to standards , it looked like a back alley card room where you can come and go as you please . Sorry , but i will not going back to this casino , i only have 3 days visiting here in newcastle and it was disappointing how the casinos run over here in the UK , they need to sign up for hospitality courses and to come to work awake instead of dragging their feet as if they just worked 22...

I’m a bit disappointed by the door staff as they decided to get abit funky with me saying I was to intoxicated. This was around 2300. I’ve only been out 3 hours. Getting drunk that quick is impossible during a meal in a restaurant. Never once have I caused a problem in any establishment. My wife was in the casino entertaining our clients for a night out. I was refused about 10 mins later. I thought this was a mistake and went round the back to be knocked back again. Went back to the door and 3 doormen grabbed me by the neck and arms. So after the police had made their decision as judge and jury whilst these doormen are smirking behind the police they judged the matter in their favour. Anyway I made a complaint to the GM David Tait that reviewed the footage and same again justifying their actions. I can remember when doormen were classy standing in the doorway making sure you wouldn’t get near the door. There was absolutely no need to go overkill on the force they used. So the complaint result was a total ban from all Aspers casinos. Apparently I’m just a profile. So after leaving I managed to get in touch with the wife to meet me down at another casino where they gladly let me in through the door passing a well presented doormen without any fuss. It’s funny how they didn’t stop me for being intoxicated. I won’t be persuading any civil claim. Yous are not worth the bother.
