Art Cafe — Restaurant in Oxford

My friend and I went into the Art Coffee shop so she could buy a slice of salted caramel brownie. We were the next customers in the line of the queue, one person in front. At that time they were five staff members behind the counter plus one staff in front of the counter. After we had waited for 5 to 7 minutes, behind just this one person, and as we were in a hurry we asked the sixth staff member at the front if she could serve us, she declined my request and told us to ask the staff behind the counter. We were then told by a woman ( supervisor or manager, although I doubt it from her response ) behind the counter, in a very rude and condescending manner that "we have to wait our turn and there is people in the front", even if there were 5 other staff there. We clarified that it was our turn to be served and it was a quick takeaway purchase but then we left without buying anything from there. Very inhospitable customer service!

It is a shame to see this kind of response from a few of his staff as I have known the owner for as long as 19 yrs in Oxford and he is the nicest person that I have dealt with...

I asked for a fresh orange 🍊 juice and was served with a massive Iceberg (of the same nature that made the Titanic sink, Bear in mind some of it had already melted with the juice), and cannot believe was charged £4.50 for this !

The bloke behind the till clearly wasn’t bothered! Think this was the most expensive orange shot (25 ml) I’ve ever had !

P.S: It’d be nice to ask people if they want ice 🧊 for a start !!!

In response to your recent reply: If you make a mistake, OWN the mistake, don’t blame your customer or come up with BULLSHYY.te excuses by saying : “SHAME YOU DIDn’t ASK FOR SOMEONE TO REPLACE WITHOUT ICE”

How would I know there’s an ice berg in the cup ? I hadn’t noticed until I was 2 minutes away, no one minds 2 or 3 ice cubes 🧊! But not half a kilo of ice 🧊!!!

Rang my mobile then when I called back after looking up the number to check I hadn’t been a victim of fraud (as anyone would want to check as I’ve never been to this cafe in my life) the lady who answered was extremely rude, claimed she hadn’t rang me, called me a liar and hung up as I continued speaking. Upon calling back a more polite gentleman answered however, they did not seem to appreciate my reason for checking where they had got my number from or why they were calling me.

I have attached proof of the missed call from them and proof of trying to immediately call them back before they try to call me a liar once more on here. Someone at your cafe rang my number, it’s there in black and white. How about you don’t go around accusing innocent people of lying and actually get to the bottom of the matter?

It’s extremely rude and unprofessional and I won’t be going anywhere near your cafe now based on your customer service alone in handling the matter. Train your...
