Decent new popeyes in Oxford, it recently opened, it was very quiet as it was a Thursday and they had just opened. So it's very clean inside, they have multiple large terminals to order your food McDonald's style. I ordered spicy chicken sandwich, 3 piece original chicken, hot wings, fries, and a soft drink. If ordering from a terminal, you can pick up a table number, same as you do in McDonald's, or choose a table and enter the table number. Food is served pretty quickly, I would say its quicker than five guys for reference. Food itself is good but not special or substantially different than kfc. The spicy chicken sandwich was good, the chicken was cooked well, it was moist, it had a more interesting taste than a zinger burger. The original recipe chicken had a crispier coating than kfc, it was a lot less saltier than kfc, this will suit certain pallets. Again chicken was moist, cooked well. Fries were very good, not as good as five guys, but they had a slight cajun seasoning, were crispy, they were definitely better than most fast food fries. The hot wings were slightly larger than kfc hot wings but ate substantially more expensive, again cooked well, coating was nice, the spiciness is different to kfc, again less salty. I would recommend this place for people to try, however, I think they need to improve the recipe to differentiate it from other chicken places. At this point the chicken is just very competently cooked, less salty kfc. The cooking quality is superior to kfc, I prefer the less salty taste but its not interesting enough to attract me back. However, this launch is less calamitous than the Wendy's that opened which was horrendous, I hope they improve the recipes. Worth...

We had an extremely disappointing experience at this place and truly regret visiting. We ordered six pieces of chicken, a chicken burger, and fries. When we asked for a cup of water, we were handed a tiny sauce container instead—not ideal, but we let it slide.

The food was served surprisingly quickly, but it became obvious why. The chicken was appalling. It had a foul odor, tasted undercooked, and had an unpleasant pink, rubbery texture. Worse still, it was completely soaked in oil that seemed old and unclean. Concerned about the quality, we approached the manager. To our shock, he admitted that other customers had raised similar complaints but dismissed it, saying, “That’s just how we prepare our chicken.”

The chicken burger wasn’t any better. It was dry, flavorless, and the chicken inside was equally drenched in stale oil.

To top it off, my friend had a similarly terrible experience. Their chicken was also pink, had an off-putting smell, and was entirely inedible. In the end, we had to throw the chicken away, effectively wasting £20.

The next day, I experienced severe food poisoning and spent a long time unwell. Frankly, I’m shocked that this place is still allowed to operate. The entire experience was the worst I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. For the sake of your health, avoid it...

We visited this place and deeply regretted it. We ordered 6 pieces of chicken, a chicken burger, and fries. We asked for a cup of water, but instead, we were given a tiny sauce cup — strange, but fine.

The order was brought very quickly, and unfortunately, it became clear why. The chicken was disgusting: it had a terrible smell, like it was spoiled, and tasted raw. It was pink inside and had a rubbery texture. On top of that, it was drenched in oil, so much that it felt like the oil had never been changed. We went to talk to the manager, complained about the quality, and even asked if others had reported similar issues. He admitted that other customers had complained, but said, “That’s just how we prepare our chicken.”

The burger wasn’t any better — the chicken inside was also soaked in old oil, and the whole thing was dry and completely tasteless.

To make things worse, my friend had an equally bad experience, if not worse. Their chicken was also pink, smelled off, and was inedible.

We ended up throwing the chicken away. That’s £20 straight into the bin. This was the worst chicken I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Avoid it at all costs and...
