So my opinion of 7 bone is quite split and i’m still undecided as to what i think of it. I’ll start with the service which was just terrible. The people were really nice but it was sloppy and exhaustingly dragged out. So first we went in and asked for a table and told it was a 30 minute wait, no worries, expected it so the waiter told us if we leave our number he’ll call us. Wasn’t overly busy a few spare tables about but no problem. Left the number and went for a drink. 40 minutes passed and no call. So we went in to find out they forgot about us, first of many things like this. Next we had to wait about 15/20 minutes before the waitress served us, walking passed tonnes of times and doing other stuff like cleaning tables. Everyone was starving. Then when we ordered drinks some of us got vodka cokes and were given cokes as they forgot about the vodka. The vodka came about 15 minutes later. Then after we ate our food we had to wait another 20 minutes before it was cleared away and longer for the bill. Other people who’ve been before said this type of service is expected so it’s not because it was mildly busy. However, the redeeming factor: the food was god damn amazing. Absolutely top class and really delicious and very reasonably priced. Very impressed with the quality and pricing of the food. So if you wanna go 7bone expect amazing food, nice atmosphere and reasonable pricing but exhaustingly long and forgetful service

We had the Prince Charles is overrated and sadly that was an apt description of our meal. We last went to 7Bone 5 years ago and thought we would go back as fancied a proper burger. The burger arrived with chilli cheese chips and frickles. The burger itself was OK but it was served in a bread roll that showed no vestige of having even been shown a toaster or grill and had gone so soggy at the bottom it stuck to the burger with a wallpaper paste type consistency. I peeled the burger from said roll and ate that...I was hungry. The chilli cheese chips, what can I say! Insipid, lack lustre with a splodge of chilli cheese dumped over the top. If the above wasn't enough the biggest disappointment was the frickles. Last time we had them they were succulent long slices coated in a light tempura batter and we couldn't get enough of them they were so delish. This time the were bits of gherkin cut across ways and embedded literally in a hard batter. I had to cut them out of the batter to eat and gave up in the end it was too much of a chore for so little result. The blue cheese dip that accompanied the frickles had no taste of blue cheese and was so runny it dripped all over the place when used. Left for a few minutes and an oily layer appeared on the surface, not at all inviting. The place was buzzing and the service was excellent hence the 3 stars. We won't be returning.

Where do I begin, I have been here a few times in the last couple of months with no problems, very sad that the chicken fried bacon rashers have been taken off the menu, but I can live with that, HOWEVER the disgusting pink slimy undercooked burger I can not. Every time I’ve come I’ve been able to ask for the burger to be well done, however was told that couldn’t be done this time, maybe there’s a new chef who wants to serve disgusting pink slimy undercooked beef? So I ordered anyway, when the food came and I saw the pink I thought it was a new pink sauce in the burger, but then I realised it was actually the meat, it put me off it so much, the server was rude and not even interested in doing her job, so I didn’t bother complaining, but tell me how this is even worth £10+ That’s the last time I’ll ever go to 7 bone.

Have been here several times before and it never fails to disappoint! During the Eat Out to Help Out scheme there were no bookings allowed so had to wait for about 1 hour 15 ish for a table which wasn't too bad. Got seated downstairs for the first time which was nicer because it was quiet but it was a bit dark and there was only 1 waiter assigned to all 8 tables so service wasn't as great as upstairs usually is. Food was delicious as always and serving portions were generous as always too. Only reason it's not a 5* is because of the service - took ages for our order to be taken, took ages for us to get our bill, the waiter kept taking his mask off (seems pointless half heartedly wearing one?!) and just gave the impression he didn't want to be there. However I love 7bone so will definitely be back!

I have mixed feelings about this one, value for money was there, good size servings and a pretty comprehensive menu. I think they are short handed in the kitchen, our fries and wings (tasted a bit off) were warm at best, biggest peev. My burger Prince Charles wasn't bad but a lot happening there, my wife ordered Peter Green, it was pretty basic with only the patty to taste. Dirty fries were warm and nothing to write home about, I mean either it's the fact that they are short handed or something else, I don't think I'm going back there, I am comparing this with Gordon Ramsey's burger place in Reading, I'd say Street Burger wins by a country mile as the taste was unique and well executed. Sorry guys! Good enough bunch of servers, I did leave a tip but overall disappointed.

This location RUINED 7Bone for me! Fell in love with 7Bone burgers at Southhampton. Although, Reading location disappointed me. Could only enjoy my chips and onion rings. The burgers buns, meat, and preparation quality was sourced from the cheapest ingredients from top to bottom. It felt like I was eating RAW minced pork from the packaging. I took the SAME burger I had in Southhampton and almost gagged at the location in Reading! 7Bone, look into this location! It's tragic. P.S the drinks felt like they were shaken up during transportation and all you could feel was the fizz. They did not have any bottled water either. HUH?!
