Hardys Hophouse — Restaurant in England

Would not recommend this place for drinks or food in Weymouth. (This review is a few months old) - had booked 2 tables of six at 6pm for food and drinks. We arrived at the venue and were instantly felt unwelcome by the bouncer. We were then shown to our table and was told someone would come and take our drink order shortly. 15mins later a waitress came and took our drinks order on one of the tables and we also inquired about food and she told she'd being the menu over. They brought the drinks over and they were well priced. However, the other table in our group were not served until 45mins of being in the establishment, despite asking multiple waiters to order but all of them saying they'll be back in a bit. They also refused to serve us food despite serving other smaller tables. The waitresses were all very rude to us and then when we decided to leave after an hour the bouncer said he was glad that we were leaving. We weren't roudy, or even drunk, and have a feeling it was just because we were a group of guys, obviously judged us before we even entered the property and then treated us badly to get us out. Liked this place when it first opened (before lockdown) then came in after the reopening and we were ignored by all the waitresses at the bar who was too busy texting on their phones! I was the only person waiting to be served and there were 3 girls at the bar who all ignored me because all of them were texting, then when I got noticed they still continued to ignore me until one of them finished on their phone! Then to top it all of (assuming a floor manageress because she was the only one with a radio/walkie talkie?) Was walking around messaging on her phone. I think the place would be lovely if all the staff weren't of a similar age and too busy on their phones. Went in a few days ago and the place was empty apart from a few tables and we stood at the door waiting to be served and I politely asked if there were any tables available to have a drink without eating and the girl just bluntly said: "No, bookings only". I visited here in the summer with my family (party of 6 of us plus 2 family dogs). I’ve never felt so welcome in a place before. Staff so attentive went the extra mile water bowls and gravy bones brought over for the dogs without even having to ask. The assistant manager Sarah who waited our table provided such a caring attentive experience for myself and all my family no task was was to much for her to do for us, excellent knowledge of her products and the very important to myself was her knowledge of the allergens contained within the products. My complements to the chef as all the food was prepared beautifully. With 2 of our party being disabled we were informed where the disabled toilet was and that if it had locked itself to please let any staff member know and they’ll open it right away this just added to our experience in making us feel at ease within the venue. 5 stars does not do it justice if could give a 10 I would drinks food and amazing staff will definitely be returning in future when back...
