Wow , what an absolute gem of a museum. It can be found just off the High Street in Broadway in the cotswolds. Gordon Russell was a furniture designer who was influenced by the arts and crafts style. He produced so many wonderful objects , wether it was music cabinets for Murphy or replacement furniture for those that had everything destroyed in the war. It was affordable , beautiful, ahead of its time and influenced others. You are requested to touch the furniture , open drawers, a d in some there are his plans. It's a fascinating insight into his workings. It's not a huge place, but I think we spent a good 90 minutes there. A special mention to the lovely lady on the desk who was informative , enthusiastic and in keeping with the furniture immaculately dressed. Fantastic place.

Until me and my wife went to look around the Gordon Russell Design Museum we had no idea how important he was and still is to Broadway. We decided to have a look around not long after the museum had opened, which was very lucky for us, because the guide looking after things had time to point us in the right direction. If you have time to visit this museum I would highly recommend it and should you be as lucky as us to meet the gentleman we spoke to,it will be well worth your time. Sorry we don't know the curators name but we were most grateful to you for bringing Gordon Russell to life.

If you happen to find yourself in Broadway, I would thoroughly recommend a visit to the Gordon Russell Design Museum. Charting Russell's career and providing examples of some of his designs, from Arts and Crafts through to the modern and utilitarian. Small by museum standards, but certainly packs a huge punch, and staffed by some lovely and very knowledgeable people.

This is a superb little museum showcasing the life and work of the furniture designer Gordon Russell with many examples of his work from the beginnings (around the early 1900's through to the mid 1950s (exhibition costs £5 entry). The exhibition is housed in two small floors but what they have packed in there will take you a good amount of time to digest. A must if you like this kind of thing.

Informative and passionate volunteer staff (Peter, who was there today was genuinely interested and interesting), small but lovely gift shop.

I really enjoyed discovering this and it's a short but deep dive into a stunning craftsperson's work, thoroughly recommended. It makes the lovely town of Broadway an even more...

A five star customer experience! I recently bought some goods for a present from the Museum's online shop. As one of the items was out of stock it took a few days to fulfil the order, but both Helen and Verity kept me in the loop. By the time the item arrived at the Museum, it was getting very close to my partner's birthday. So the team offered to send it out to me by special delivery to ensure it arrived in time. Thankfully it has and so the birthday surprise won't be spoilt. Fantastic range of gifts; first rate service and all in all, a very positive experience. I shall definitely shop...
