I've been in the food business for forty years. This has to be one of the best food shops ive been into for years. I was there, yesterday. So many, oh so many food shops call themselves a "Deli"...when what they really mean is they sell smoked salmon and Olives. great, that's it is it....those are your delicacies? I am that age, when ive got money in my pocket and im a foodie and im looking for a "treat" when i buy gifts for people they are almost always food related. I like my food. I go out shopping and more often than not can't even find something i like. "I'm looking for a treat, I'm looking for something nice".....I'm looking to blow some money and can't find anything.
Well, go to this shop it is impossible to not spend money, impossible. A fabulous range of so many food items it's just impossible to even try and list them. Trust me, just go, you'll find lots of great foodie items that even the most discerning will enjoy. It's not cheap, but in my experience words like good and cheap do not fit in the same sentence. It's great to see a shop keeper who has clear pride in what they do and offer a fabulous service. Ten out of ten. I love it and shall return. Sadly, live many miles away, but rest assured, ill find a very good reason to pass this shop. . This...
Read moreAs regular visitors to the beautiful Cotswold area, we couldn't understand how we'd never stopped at Broadway. Managed to find a parking space about quarter of a mile outside the main street and walked in to find what we both thought looked a bit unreal, almost like a film set. Can't really miss the Deli, with it's rather garish sign (if someone from there is reading this, please consider a redesign of the typeface and colours). Other than that, the place is simply amazing. If you're visiting on a weekend or holiday time, the odds are there'll be a bit of a queue, or the place will be rather busy at the least. If you require fruit and veg - one of the best displays I've ever seen. Anything 'Deli', well the whole establishment is full of just about everything. If you simply, like we did, want to eat, there's no shortage of tables, both downstairs, upstairs and outside to the rear. Service is brilliant and the food excellent, although you may have to wait, but it's worth it. Put it...
Read moreI would love to love this place, but their policy is they won't hold a table for you if you leave the shop. So guests waiting for a table are stuck smooshing themselves against the walls, while guests trying to actually shop can't get to anything. It's really frustrating and doesn't make sense. Just tell guests if they aren't there when their table is ready they lose their place. That way for at least 15 minutes of the 30 minute wait they can clear out of the place and leave to room for shoppers. I also found their young male host to be obnoxious. He told me like 3 times it was going to be a long wait. It made me feel like they didn't want our business and they were trying to convince out of it. Nice selection of interesting products and takeaway options though, though we opted not to get anything there. We had a lovely meal at the very nice little...
