Sadly our experience was poor. A busy day and we waited outside the door where a sign said “closed for the minute, open again soon” to place our order as the signs advised us to. After 5/10 minutes of staff going past and us happily chatting between ourselves the door was banged open by a gentleman with a beard who said loudly and brusquely “it will be 20/25 minutes before we reopen” and the door slammed shut. Ourselves and the other people on the queue looked at each other in shock. What awful customer service. Being polite, even when rushed off your feet, is not difficult and can win you good reviews, as per one of your competitors who were very polite and apologetic in the same situation, but because of their manner I left a positive review for others to know how polite they are.
UPDATED: following the very adult and business like response from the business owner I felt an edit was required. At no point did I say I wanted to remain standing outside your cafe with no feedback, all I suggested was some manners in how your team member conveyed the information. As I said, manners cost nothing. Clearly something you as the owner, also need lessons on after your fantastic, helpful response - all the best to you and your poorly staff member.
Maybe taking some of your own advise on becoming an adult (I.e. your grow up comment) may help you. Have...
Read moreCame to the leaf and bean seeing that they serve vegan food. The cappuccino and hot chocolate were good and my husbands potato masala panini was interesting and different. Unfortunately I ordered the vegan cheese deluxe panini. When served it was a huge serving of spinach and mushrooms and no cheese in sight. The waitress explained the orange substance was the cheese, more like a cheese sauce and the spinach and mushroom came part of the 'deluxe' sandwich. I'm allergic to mushroom and not a big fan of spinach. It didn't say anywhere on the menu these items came in the sandwich and that there was no actual cheese. She did offer to take the panini back to the kitchen but that I'd have to reorder at the till. By now the queue was out the door and starting down the small arcade street. I kept the panini, scraping the mushroom and spinach out but was left with just bread, definitely no taste or texture of cheese. My suggestion would be to list these other ingredients for customers to see before they order as I most certainly wouldn't have ordered this had I known, gotten something else and perhaps enjoyed my lunch and left feeling satiated. Very...
Read moreWe loved it here. My husband and I came here with my mum and we had coffee and toasted sandwiches, all really good. As a tea drinker I was pleased to see an extensive tea menu and the coffee was excellent too. Good choice of options for lunch including a good range of vegan toasties - I had the masala potato one which was very yummy like a toast samosa. The cake menu caught our eye and we returned for more coffee and also cake later in the afternoon. The ginger scones, brownie and crumble cake looked nice. However I don't think you could really have gone wrong with their cake cabinet! While entry is usually through the rear of the shop and does involve a step, the front door was open and I'm sure this would be fine for wheelchair access. All staff...
