A Royal Retreat at Abbots Grange in Broadway - The Coach House Suite
As we meandered through the picturesque village of Broadway, we couldn't help but feel a sense of enchantment in the air. Little did we know that our stay at Abbots Grange would elevate our experience to a whole new level, leaving us feeling like royalty in the heart of the English countryside.
From the moment we arrived, the majestic presence of Abbots Grange swept us off our feet. This beautifully restored 14th-century manor house exudes an air of elegance, sophistication, and history. But it was our decision to stay in the Coach House Suite that truly made our visit unforgettable.
The Coach House Suite, a separate and luxurious haven within the hotel, encapsulates the essence of a regal retreat. The richly decorated and spacious suite, with its sumptuous king-size bed, exposed wooden beams, and cozy fireplace, provided us with the perfect sanctuary to unwind after a day of exploring the Cotswolds.
One of the most remarkable aspects of our stay was the extraordinary service provided by the attentive and dedicated staff. Their genuine warmth and eagerness to cater to our every need made us feel like esteemed guests in a royal court. We were truly touched by their dedication to ensuring our stay was nothing short of exceptional.
Of course, no visit to Abbots Grange would be complete without indulging in the culinary delights on offer. The breakfast served each morning in the grand dining room was a feast fit for a king or queen. Each dish was crafted from the freshest local ingredients, ensuring a delicious start to our days. The eggs Benedict was a particular highlight, with the perfectly poached eggs and rich, velvety Hollandaise sauce leaving us eagerly anticipating the next morning's repast.
As if the exquisite surroundings and attentive service were not enough, we were also delighted to discover an array of thoughtful touches in our suite. The tea and biscuits left for us each day were a welcome treat, and we relished the opportunity to savor them in the privacy of our charming accommodation.
In summary, our stay at Abbots Grange, and particularly in the Coach House Suite, exceeded all expectations. The unparalleled service, luxurious accommodations, and attention to detail at every turn created an atmosphere of regal splendor that we will not soon forget. We wholeheartedly recommend Abbots Grange to anyone seeking a truly exceptional and unforgettable stay in the...
Read moreI can’t really understand how reviews are done. The hotel has a very good location on Broadway village and a nice garden and facade. That’s it. The rooms we tried two and the service are just BAD. First room before being upgraded was an Abbots champers was a totally tired, dirty, with no adequate lighting and a bad bed room. No shower, low speed on the water which meant you had to take a shower standing up on a bath tub for x3 the time it would take you on a shower. The toilet was a 40inx40in prison room that you had to do squats in order to seat on the toilet. Meanwhile the light in the toilet and the air circulation was on a automatic movement sensor which meant that if you would go in the night you and your partner (toilet-prisoner room was 1 meter away from the bed) would have to wake up and counting for 7-10 min before it went off…btw the photos have nothing to do with reality since the room is heavily tired Same for our upgraded room Elizabethan suite… same problem with lighting, bath huge but so tired, dirty etc Also every day our rooms were smelling fried bacon in the morning and burnt wood in the nights Service: ooh my god! I had to prepare my cappuccino by myself since they don’t do it although they have a last century machine, you can serve yourself in the bar with less than basic alcohol (no one will fix you a drink -it seems you are at home but with no variety, no quality and of course you are charged as for a 5* hotel..) Breakfast had the bare minimum with an incompetent servant. Yesterday with only 2 couples having breakfast it took her 20’ to come and take my order while she knew I was in a hurry since we needed to visit Blenheim Palace. ..And of course no porter although I asked them twice to bring my luggage from the 1st floor with no elevator and very dangerous slippery stairs. I asked them earlier today 3 times to bring a porter but no one came and no one even said goodbye!!! All in all : It’s a rip off and they need punishment in order to invest some basic money on both the rooms and...
Read moreI had wanted to visit the lovely Cotswolds for decades. I finally took action and booked a week long trip. After much research for months, I decided to book with Abbots Grange in Broadway - knowing nothing about the Cotswolds or the hotels. I could not have made a better choice. This very old manor has a beautiful and charming history. It is just what I wanted. The gothic structure and preserved decor is a continuous fascination to gaze at and be around. I stayed in the Elizabethan Suite and loved that. The manor has charm and personality 100 fold with every room. The daily breakfast was absolutely divine. Delicious and beautifully presented food, and congenial service met me every morning. The manager, Maria, not only booked my reservation many months earlier by phone, but she made my stay warm and pleasant. She helped me with booking dinners, and gave me a wonderful tour of the manor. She took precious time our of her schedule and chatted with me on several occasions and made me feel like family. Maria also booked another reservation with Abbots Grange for next summer. I am so looking forward. I don't have my pictures ready to upload, unfortunately. I will have to do that in the near future. The manor was very clean and beautiful. Candle lighting in the Great Hall, Breakfast room, and throughout. There are several beautiful grand fireplaces in the common areas that were lit in the evening. The grounds were lovely with wild flower walks. The honesty bar is truly charming and beautiful. I wish I could keep this manor a secret so not too many people can discover it, but they deserve...
