Travelled from Stratford upon Avon for my friends 50th Birthday.

Thankfully I decided to drive as the taxi alone would have cost me £140 return and I would have demanded it back.

The table was booked for a party of 8 for a 50th Birthday so it was clear we wanted a friendly and relaxed evening.

Throughout the meal I felt we were rushed between courses. When trying to explain what I meant by "medium" which to me is pinky but not dripping in blood - the lady serving seemed to think I was having a laugh at her expense when she explained to me that medium rare was "bloody" so I said ok well a bit more than that then. How on Earth after trying so hard to explain that I wanted it pink but not bloody that translated to "medium well"?? This phrase was never mentioned to me and what happened to "medium"? Not the end of the world...

I made a joke about the fact I totally ruined my starter by killing it with salt - totally my fault as I thought it was a pepper grinder. Joke completely lost on the lady serving who I am sure thought I was maybe looking for a discount? No - I was just trying in my silly way to say (which I did) the soup was lovely - but I ruined it trying to apply what I thought was pepper. Anyway.... realised thi s lady wasnt really enjoying my light hearted communications. After ordering red wine for my wife - no red wine and it was suggested I never mentioned it ..... so I let that one go too and just got them to order it again - all done with light-hearted way but didnt feel my nature was being recipricated.

As we were finishing our meal and requesting some more drinks we were told the bar was on last orders (10.30 in a hotel on a Saturday night?) and that we wouldnt be able to order more drinks. It was clear they were standing and waiting for us to finish which felt really awkward so we offered a kind gesture of taking our drinks to the bar so they could get on with cleaning our table.

We took the drinks into the bar area which looked really cosy - very cool vibe - so we could finish off our drinks and say goodbye to each other.

Within 2 minutes an INCREDIBLY rude bar manager comes over - tells us we have to leave (remember this is at about 10.40? 10.45?) . We explained very politely that weve just finished our meal and it was us that OFFERED to help them by moving into what we thought was the designated drinking area and despite the last orders we could just simply finish our drinks and leave - which would be no more than 10 minutes? Nope - Not only was he not having it but was blatantly rude - totally obnoxious and suggested he gives us plastic cups!!!!! We had just spend well over £500 on a meal - rushed through - not in the most wonderful manner - to then feel so awkward about staying that we moved into the bar - to then be spoken to like this? You couldnt make this stuff up?

It just shows how just one or two people can completely screw up a business.

Whilst we were making our protests people staying in the hotel joined in to make their voices heard too - They were upset that even the hotel guests couldnt buy drinks. His reason? Their staff leave at 11 and they have to close down at 10.30 so they can leave. What? On a Saturday night in hotel?

A fair few of the staff were lovely - friendly - the location is beautiful and I am sure on a good day and you meet the right people you could have a totally different experience. Just book early and make sure you dont want a drink after 10.30 :)

21/11/2023. Have just read the utterly APPALLING reply from whoever is in charge of the reviews - which you would presume is a senior member of staff?

We were told to leave as the staff leave at 11pm. Your comments come across as unapologetic, completely dismissive, unappreciative and you've lied about the time your bar closed - or your team are lying to you. You even had people staying in the hotel complaining about the same issues so I have to presume from all of this that you find all of this completely acceptable.

Disgusting reaction to an evening ruined by this very...

After booking a weekend break we arrived at 7 p.m. shown to a table seated and given the menu once looking at the menu there was no meals suitable for a teenage that was appropriate, we have been here previously and had fish and chips for my daughter, we brought an extra person with us and we thought that we could have the same menu. we were told however that the children's menu was 4 in the bar and we weren't allowed this menu even though we had it before, This menu was for under 12 and was very small meal, but after my daughter having it before were choosing the same as before hand After going to reception who said they would speak to the staff, some sort of agreement made that my daughter and her boyfriend could have the children's menu. Choice wasn't ok for myself and choose soup and a bowl of chips as found all the meals overpriced and wasn't prepared to pay for a meal that didn't like, By staff was made to feel very uncomfortable with smaller meals and a lighter meal for myself was recovering from an illness, so I really wasn't bothered about having something else on the menu smaller we paid for a bottle of water not being told that it was not tap water, we pay for bread even though you get it with your meals, my daughter her boyfriend had a pudding as that's why they picked the smaller meal so they could have the pudding, but then I felt as though I was being pressured to buy a pudding as well asking us what we were having as well in a manner but we thought we'd need to order one Found this restaurant overpriced for the meals my husband's meal was £25 for the Lamb, which found that it wasn't up to scratch and it wasn't value for money Would...

Stayed here many times and always enjoyed it . Recently booked in for my birthday weekend with our dog . We informed them it was with our dog as on previous occasions. When we arrived we were told the room we had booked was not a dog friendly room therefore could not stay . The manager came out and said sorry but we have no other rooms available and we won’t be refunding your £600 as you didn’t tick a box when booking . We were so confused and asked if they could offer any other solution. The manger stated no sorry and that was that we had to leave . We had a dinner booking in the area while driving there we rang the receptionist at the Broadway and said how upset we were at such disgraceful treatment she was clearly very embarrassed. She offered to give us some other recommendations in the area that had availability. We stayed at a beautiful hotel a few miles away and continued our weekend still very shocked by our treatment by the Broadway. We have since written to the Broadway itself and the owners with no response at all . We are so disgusted we will never visit the Broadway Hotel again and neither will any friends or family . Kindness and care go a long way we...

We had a lovely stay at The Broadway Hotel—it's the perfect mix of charm, convenience, and comfort. The location is ideal, right in the heart of the village and walkable to everything Broadway has to offer. The hotel has both a bar and a restaurant; one of the dining areas features especially beautiful interior seating, though I’d recommend making reservations ahead of time if you want to dine there. The guest parking is a bit tricky to find at first—it’s through a small driveway with an automatic gate right beside the hotel. It’s convenient once you know where it is, but a bit more signage would be helpful. Our room was cozy and well-equipped. The bathtub was a standout, complete with all the necessary amenities for a relaxing soak. The room also included a tea kettle and a Nespresso machine (which might be standard across UK hotels, but still appreciated!). A portable fan was provided as well, which we used both for airflow and white noise to help muffle some distant dog barking at night. Overall, it was a very comfortable and charming stay in a beautiful, picturesque town. Would absolutely recommend The Broadway Hotel for anyone visiting the Cotswolds.

Exceptional hotel in an excellent location. The town of Broadway is one of the 'must-see' places in the Cotswolds and the hotel is just at the bottom of the high street. If you are visiting for a weekend, there is enough to take-in in the immediate vicinity that a car is not required, just some good walking shoes. The Hotel staff were fantastic and ensured we had an enjoyable stay, and we also found the food & drink to be very good. A few pointers for potential visitors; Hotel restaurant and bar are both usually very busy in high season and so book the restaurant in advance of your stay & get down to the bar early for a good spot. We went during one of 2 Christmas Shopping evenings in Broadway (usually last Friday in November and first Friday in December) which meant the Hotel was expensive when compared to similar establishments, but still 100% worth it.

We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly, polite and very attentive. The menu catered for most requirements and we were asked if we had any dietary requirements or allergies they needed to know about before we ordered. The kids had the roast, my wife had the sea bass and I had the Vegetarian Wellington. All were excellent and everyone was very happy. For dessert we had the brownie, treacle tart, crumble and a cappuccino. There were a few ales on tap to choose from for me too. I was happy to pay that much and actually get a meal that deserved the price tag for once. We recommend it and plan to return soon.
