Wow, these guys are nuts. For a kid oriented business you would think they could be more sensitive and sensible.
We went there to book a birthday party for a 7y.o., and also for him to play with his friends. When we came, our 11 y.o. daughter met her friend, also 11 yo girl, who came with her dad and was playing for a long time with a claw machine. I was with my other kids when they called me to try to play and claw a toy. I tried, also unsuccessfully, as the toys are arranged in way to make clawing anything impossible. Next the friend started jokingly PRETENDING picking a lock with a bobby pin. There were many people nearby, employees and patrons, they didn't try to hide their "crime" as it was just a stupid game on public, not actually trying to unlock the claw machine toys. I told them to stop this stupid game and left. I thought they would stop after my warning, unfortunately they didn't. While it was probably my misjudgement not to be more assertive and making sure they stopped, there trully was no chance of them either unlocking this claw machine or damaging stainless steel cylinder, so I didn't feel the situation is such that I should be forceful with other people's child.
Few minutes later arcade employee brought my daughter and her friend to us, claiming they were trying to break in into their claw machine, which is expensive and new, and they have to leave.
While my wife went to try to calm girls who were crying hysterically, an employee came to me telling that an alternative to making the girls leave would be calling police on two 11 year olds. I calmly explained that this would be ridiculous, calling police when a stern warning and possibly a day ban from claw machine would be enough. For the context, the girls are very well behaved who are never disruptive in any way - there were no other complaints besides this stupid claw machine joke. Then, completely out of the blue, this employee told me that I had to leave with my wife and our other children and come another day. He probably didn't like that I tried to explain my view of the situation. There was no heated argument, we were just talking. When I asked why my other children have to leave, they were not even close to the claw machine, and my 11yo daughter didn't even touch the hair pin and she already left crying, the employee threatened to call police if we don't leave. I told we would leave peacefully if they refund $50 we just spent for the cards as all this happened just few minutes after we arrived. Not letting us to use the cards we paid for while insisting on "no refunds" at the same time is very unfair. As expected, they refused the refund, but unexpectedly few minutes later armed Abington police officers came to remove us from the arcade!
Their manager, Jake C, told us that now we are banned for life from the arcade, not just frustrating our 7yo who anticipated his birthday party there, but also losing about $1000 the business could earn from us for this party. In addition these guys disgusted two other families, 11 yo daughter friends' and our 7yo friends' families.
I strongly don't recommend visiting this place, these people are extremely rude to customers. Read other reviews - there are too many one star reviews for this reason. And if you still feel you need to go there, at least avoid the claw machines - they are total scam as stressed by multiple other...
Read more*Editing my review. The staff has been very kind, understanding and helpful of my situation. They helped to make it right, and from what I see have come a long way in fixing the issues that I'd encountered. I guess I just was a little quick to the party before they'd worked the kinks out. *
As an arcade, we love going to this facility, and go there often. Yes, some of the games will be malfunctioning sometimes (the staff has always been helpful about this) yes, the games can be pricey and the prizes are either a ton of tickets or not worth what you spent on points, but this is the same for all arcades, nothing surprising. It's clean and well kept.
However, my 2 star review is for the birthday party I had back in March. When we first arrived, we all had to sit in the party room for about half an hour waiting for the laser tag at first the wait was because we were missing a couple people but they showed up shortly after and we still had to wait a while. After the 2 rounds of laser tag, we were told to go back to the room for food and had to wait even longer there because the food was not ready yet. While the kids were eating, things began to get very rushed because time was running out, but all they'd gotten to do so far was the laser tag because of all the waiting in.
The staff member brought in the cup cakes and the kids just started taking them because she just set them out with the food. A tray with colorable goodie bags and markers was brought out, but the kids were rushed off immediately after eating (which was about when they were brought out) so the kids didn't even get to use them.
Right after eating (which was very rushed once the food finally came out) we rushed over to the bowling area (because the next party needed the party room), where we sat and waited for so long that the party was almost ove by the time they finally came over and activated the machines. The kids had to bowl as fast as possible and their game still went well past the party time. So we ended up having to stay an extra hour past the party time to let the kids use their play cards, which made us have to cancel our plans for after the party.
The staff was definitely polite throughout the event, but the timing (and unfortunately, the food ) was horrible. The party was a ton of time sitting around waiting for the attractions to be ready, and everything that wasn't waiting was extremely rushed.
And half the kids would not touch the quesadillas, I see now they also offer pizza which they did not when we booked which was a huge bummer as my kids had to eat after the party because they didn't like the food at their own party.
Also, my package included a "bounce back gift" for each child and I have no idea what this is, but we never received it, which I found out after the fact. I received an email with a survey after the party and mentioned all of these things and never got any response so I guess I'll just stick to not having birthday party's at this venue. With three kids 13 and under, we've had many birthday parties at different venues and never have had one this poorly executed and...
Read moreWe bought $200 worth of points totaling 1000 so that a group of 8 can play 3 rounds of Lazer tag. The game was set for a free for all , we ask for teams instead. We had waited 20 minutes to wait for the tech manager. While we waited we said we would play one round of free since it was taking so long. The free play wasnât even working. We waited some more to come to find out the manager we had been waiting for was talking with friends over at the bar. We were over it and wanted a refund. He was the guy who rang us up and knew where only came for the Lazer tag. It was said the Lazer tag was having problems all day. The employee will not give us his name. They wouldnât even give us the points back from the broken round of free play. It had escalated to the police coming. No refund policy is posted anywhere. We feel cheated and on top of it all the birthday girl was in tears!!
We left with missing points and no refund. Corporate is in Texas and is currently closed.
Updated response- We paid for Lazer tag that wasnât working and the workers knew about it at the time of purchase. When we first got to the Lazer tag area the Lazer tag attendant said we have been having problems all day. The worker radioed over for the tech manager. We waited and waited, attempted to play the free play. After that failed. The attendant radioed again at that point we went to find the tech manager ourselves! Thatâs when we found with chatting over at the bar. He talked to us as we were the problem. He came to the Lazer area and talked down to the attendant as if he did something wrong. He didnât. The game still didnât work. My company was never asked to leave. We ask for the police to be called. Your employee said he would put points back on our cards for the bad free play round . (He never did). Your employees were never threatened! One of the other employee actually said that we can go back to the desk to see what he can do about a refund. We had a total of 3 employees involved. Floor manager, tech manager and the Lazer tag attendant. We did demanded a refund after the tech manager was being completely rude to us. One of our fathers did get loud but never threatened! Who wouldnât get up set about being out so much money and being told there is nothing you can do. No employee had a name tag on nor would they say what they were. Iâm glad your done communicating about this matter but I am not. We have been robbed of out money and time. This was a traumatic experience for the birthday child. A police report was made on tilted 10. Thank you to the Abington police officers we really appreciate you guys showing up for us! We did not want to leave without documentation of this situation. The emails and responses that we have been received so far have completely unprofessional from the Sr VP of operations Kevin Jordan of tilted 10 AKa Nickles and dimes. No header or closing. Just simple responded with â This has been investigated, it is clear we are not the location for you. Please do not return.â please note this is the first time we have be ask...
