Was on a quick drive through Albany, Ga and decided to stop and check the park out. The area is big, with plenty of shaded areas if you wanted to go for a picnic. The river runs right next to the park and I happen to see a couple of people fishing while there. The rotating statue of Ray Charles along with the music was a definite highlight, plenty of space to sit near the display but a lot of that area isn’t shaded. So going in the evening or cooler weather would probably be best. One downside, which was also mentioned in a previous review, was the fact that there were some vagrants within the park. My blind friend was thrilled to see the Ray Charles plaque was also in braille. I believe the statue is suppose to rotate but it doesn't, and perhaps needs repair.
