One of the most enjoyable places to have lunch! The chicken salad was the best that I’ve ever eaten! I wish I had been in Albany longer to try other sandwiches on the menu! The homemade cookie was amazing … again, I wished I had more time to sample more cookies! Thanks to the wonderful folks who worked there for making my visit a treat!

We went in for lunch today and the food was spectacular. I love this little place. We had a pb&j, vegetable beef soup, chips, and two cookies. The employees are super friendly and do a great job! The owner said my daughter was adorable and wanted to hold her! I had to convince her to give her back. So sweet.

Great homemade food. The chicken and tuma salad plates are great with all the fixings and they have one of the best Ruben's in town. Great cookies, breakfast, and lunch. Soups are great, too. 😉 Give em a try!! We like to go about once a week!!

This place is great. The sandwiches are all better than good and I've yet to try anything that is sub-par. The Reubens are pretty standard as far as how they are made, but they are stacked. The BLT's are good. Even the soups are pretty decent. Even their steak sandwich is good (Gargano's is another great option on that one if you want local -- or even Picnic Pizza)

The place is small though. And sometimes it seems very, very disorganized, but they do have a system. If you go in between 1100 to 1300 you can definitely expect a little wait and possibly nowhere to sit inside.

Another bummer is they're not open at night or on weekends. I would love to stop in for brunch or something sometime when I am not trying to rush on my lunch hour.

Either way this little place is charming and I've been there several times in the past year. Apparently, they've been around for a long time and I've just never known about it, because I don't like going downtown.

If you're looking for a good sandwich this is the...

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Albany. Would take anyone I know there. Even brought co-workers and contractors from out of town to try it and everyone loved it. But that changed today. Was out and about and decided to stop by for a Rueben. I noticed a sign that said new hours 10 to 2. Not having my phone out at that time and unaware of the time, I see the owner and what looked like costumers eating. I walk in and immediately the owner lady ask, can I help you. I ask if they are opened or closed. "WHAT TIME IS IT?" Excuse me ma'am? "WHAT TIME IS IT?" I am not sure ma'am, as I reach for my phone. She them ask one of the patrons there. CAN YOU TELL HIM WHAT TIME IT IS? She yells at the guy. It's 2:09. THERE! SEE WE'RE CLOSED! Yes I do see. Hopefully you will see you have lost a customer for your rudeness. You could of polity said you were closed instead of getting hostile and trying to embarrass me in front of other customers. I will gladly...

The Cookie Shoppe is an Albany landmark that is a must not miss. Reasonably priced, not fussy, and the interior is authentic.

Simply great sandwiches, better cookies, and best of all is...
