My parents, and then my wife and I have been buying from A.furniture in Albuquerque /Santa Fe for 60+ years, but never ever again. We bought a display outdoor dining set in late June. We chose to take it home ourselves. The workers loaded and secured the set into the back of our truck and assured us all was good to take 100 miles to our home. At 5:30pm, just before the first Bernalilo exit, one of the metal chairs flipped out of the truck into the center of a 3 lane interstate. It’s a miracle a major pile up did not occur. I had to run along side the interstate about 1/4 mile and dodge vehicles going at least 75mph. I had a very close call and I am lucky to be here. The chair was a total loss and since it was a “one of kind” set it was irreplaceable. Made my first call to the our salesman the next morning. He passed on the info to management. I never received a call, I always had to call. Left messages, talked to managers who alway assured me a call back would happen soon. After about 2 weeks our salesman contacted us. They would not refund our money but offered store credit only. We had to spend about $800 more for another outdoor dining set. We chose the delivery this time for an additional $129. New set delivered late July with some decorative nut covers missing. Delivery person took photos and made notes. I got called 4x in one week by the same person to inquire about what parts I actually needed. I explained it and also suggested she look at photos and notes on delivery papers. After a week I was told the parts would be delivered within a few weeks on a delivery truck. I suggested mailing them to me but was denied. I found the parts needed on Amazon and suggested to them that I’d order them and they could refund me $15 to my credit card. No response on that but was called to let me know that a technician would come by mid August to install them. I told them I could save them a log of time and money if they would just refund me $15. They finally agreed but since then they have promised me that upper management is working on the refund. I even called my salesman, he was short with me, and told me he was told to butt out of the situation. I called many times more with the same response. Now they are not returning my messages or answering my calls. Still no refund and it’s obvious there won’t be one. I’m dreading if we have any other issues with our new set. This is not the American Furniture I’ve know for years and have spent thousands of dollars at. It’s been a nightmare. So many other great choices now with much much better...
Read moreI purchased from American Home on three separate occasions (August 23, 2020, October 3, 2020, and October 4, 2020) and spent a total of $12,303.55. I purchased furniture for five rooms in my home. I was told from the beginning that due to the pandemic, there were delays in stock and shipping. I was very understanding of the situation. I was told that I would get updates on the delivery of my various purchases. Pieces of my order were delivered in September 2020, November 2020, December 2020 and February 2021. As of February 2021, I was still waiting for the dining table and three chairs (one chair was delivered in September 2020), one dresser and two nightstands. All these pieces had been ordered and paid for on August 23, 2020. I had to call and email American Home multiple times since August 2020 to get updates on my orders. Most of the communication was initiated by me and not the American Home associates as they said they would do. I called American Home on February 13, 2021 to get an update and was told the buyer could not get the dining table that I had ordered in August 2020. I do not know how long the buyer or sales associate had known this information, but no one called me to inform me. I chose to cancel this order and get a refund. I followed up again with American Home on March 4, 2021, to inquire about the status of my dresser and two nightstands. I spoke with the manager and was told that the buyer was out to lunch but he would follow up and provide me an update. I received a text message later that day stating that the buyer needed until the following week to get more details but that an update would be provided on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021. On March 10th,2021, I did not receive a phone call or text from American Home. Again, I had to follow up and was told that the buyer was out and there wasn’t an update. After waiting for seven months, I have decided to cancel my order. American Home is not trustworthy, they are not honest, and they have very poor customer service. I paid for all of my orders up front and received nothing but the runaround. I do not recommend purchasing from American Home. This company should not be...
Read moreMy husband and I purchased our first home last April, and we were very excited to finally furnish our home with brand new furniture! Everyone recommended American Home Furniture, so I decided to go look at the warehouse first and see if I can find something that caught my eye and at a good price. While there I found the prefect dining table, buffet, and leather sofa. But I still wanted to weigh my options, so I actually went to the other American Home Furniture location off Menaul.
My first experience at this location was okay but not great, but it was surely better than my last experience.
My husband and I are young, 23 and 22 so yes we look young, but that’s no excuse to get treated the way we did both times! The first time we were barely helped, but once the salesperson saw I was serious and going to spend a lot of money that day, his whole attitude changed. Wow. But it was fine, I got the furniture I wanted and just shrugged it off.
Now going back almost a year later to purchase some more, we walked in and immediately got the worst look from the lady standing at the door (employee). She didn’t greet us in any way, and made us feel so uncomfortable right off the bat. So as bothered as we were we continued to look for what we needed. As we were walking and looking, FIVE employees look at us and don’t say a word, just give us a weird look. NO ONE once said “Hi, How are you, can I help you find anything”
I was completely done and ready to leave and not spend my money there, when finally a employee heard me complain and decided to help. Yes she helped, but she wasn’t very friendly while doing it.
I will never spend another dime here and will never recommend this place. Just because my husband and I look young doesn’t mean we don’t have any business shopping, that’s still discrimination. If they would've bothered to ask, my husband just RETIRED from the United States Air Force, at 22 years old. So never judge a book by...
