We lived here for 3 years and it was eh living here. As soon as we got a month to month lease we did whatever we could to move.
We never had problems with management. They are for the most part very helpful.
But our neighbors would fight constantly and break things, slam doors, etc. There would be parties constantly all around the neighborhood. Kids running and screaming during the day, Teens getting into fights in the evening, Drunk people everywhere at night. One of my neighbors would feed the pigeons so there was always rotten bread in the grass and pigeons everywhere. Almost every week there was a homeless person sleeping inside of our building. Someone even broke the antenna off of my car.
The laundry room needs more security. Teens threw eggs into one of the dryers and started it. Most of the washers and dryers were broken and they were brand new when we moved in! We ended up going to a lobo laundry to do our clothes because it got so bad in there. We walked in one day and a group of boys were sitting on the folding table smoking. Another time there were little kids standing on the washers playing house. My husband even went in there and a guy was sleeping on the floor.
Now that we are moved out I've called management several times to get our deposit back. At first they sent it to the wrong address, In my 30 day notice I gave them an address to send my deposit to.
Its December now and I got a letter not even explaining anything with a graph of deposits and pet fees and says that 440$ has been sent to pro collect. Now I have to call them just to ask why I got this letter and what pro collect is, do I now owe them money or something?
I was being optimistic when they told me I would get a call to at least tell me what's going on. Now I'm upset thinking I owe double of what I even put into a deposit.
Update: Because La Vida is changing their system they had us down that we did not pay rent. I sent over the necessary proof showing that we did pay our rent and now hopefully everything is fixed we should be also getting our deposit back. I'm happy they were able to work with us to fix this error.
2nd update: I don't know who at la vida was suppose to get in touch with pro collect to tell them it was their fault they sent my name in. Now I have pro collect calling me and being rude saying I still owe money at this point it's been 6 months since we lived there and now I'm still having trouble with this.
Thank god I asked for the manager at la vida because she took care of the issue immediately. One of the employees that answered the phone at first told me they couldn't do anything and I had to dispute it with pro collect even though it's not our fault they sent our name in. At least the manager investigated instead of blowing me off like the...
Read moreI really liked these apartments, great location, and just the size my family and I needed. The lady Josie, who works or worked in the office, was a true professional. Josie always went out of her way to help you. The other lady I believe was the manager was an absolute c**t. She was never helpful and always had an attitude. I dare to say she had a preference for a certain race. The apartment itself was very nice and clean. We loved it. After moving in a few days later, we began to notice we had a roach problem. We did have an exterminator fumigate twice in a time frame of eight months, and that didn't help. The roach problem was bad. The roaches infested my appliances microwave, coffeemaker, espresso maker, blender, and toaster. I had to get rid of it all. Not only is there a roach problem inside the apartment but outside as well. Everything worked fine inside the apartments, and things would get repaired when they needed to be by maintenance. It is not a good location for raising kids because of some of the residents. My neighbors were always fighting, and the other neighbors were loud with music and parties. Would also always find beer bottles outside my apartment in the back. You are not allowed to park more than 1 car in front of your apartment in the parking lot area. My 2nd car, I was forced to park on Dickerson on the side of the street, behind my apartment. My car that I was forced to park in the street was hit twice and broken into once. We constantly had inspections. I was unaware some units were housing reason for inspections, I was told. It really was annoying to have these randoms inspections. One of our payments was "lost," and our deposit was never returned even though we had no damages and the apartment was in excellent condition when it was returned. We continue to receive a non payment bill for 300 bucks, not sure for what, and it was even sent to the credit bureau and is currently under dispute and investigation. I dont recommend this place if you have more than 1 car or if you have...
