Do NOT stay here! My wife and I got a very good look at how they run this facility in the two months we stayed here. We checked out 7/6. The so called "manager," Caesar Palma, is incompetent, lazy, sketchy, and verbally abusive to his staff and customers. He needs to be fired immediately. If you have any questions, he refuses to answer phone calls or emails, going so far as telling his staff to lie and say that he is not there (while we could visibly see him on his phone in his back office behind the check in counter). He is extremely rude and aggressive to his customers and employees. One night, he was screaming at a customer at the top of his lungs, cussing, slamming/throwing things. People felt so unsafe that they were videoing the scene that Caesar was causing. All of this was happening at almost midnight. His staff is scared of him and have no respect for him. He doesn't deserve any respect at all!!! One morning, while eating breakfast, we overheard Ceaser disciplining an employee for something about him not wearing his uniform (this same employee had a gun pulled on him just hours earlier) instead of asking if he was okay. Caesar is a hypocrite, as his "uniform" was always extremely tight and multiple sizes too small. He has this huge ego and probably has some self-esteem issues going on there. Amanda, the other "manager" is also horrible. She is extremely lazy, will sit on her phone scrolling through tik toks all day, but if anyone dares to ask her to do her job she has an insane attitude. If she has to get up at all she has an attitude. Her job is not hard at all but yet she's exceptionally bad at it. Once we asked Amanda if there was a Caesar that we could talk to (about a ton of unexplained charges on our credit card) and she had the nerve to pretend like there isn't a Caesar that worked there. Caesar then slammed his door. Or she will say he's "in a meeting" when he is just back there picking his boogers. All he cares about is money! He verbally abuses employees and forces housekeeping to clean more rooms than they possibly could in an extremely short time frame. THERE IS MORE! You will have numerous insane and random charges to your card on file and if you ask about it, they will tell you something different every time. The whole place is absolutely disgusting! Filthy dirty, dog pee and cigarette butts in the stairwells. None of the entrances are secure and it's of course not in a great area. One night we were staying there a man came and pulled a gun on the front desk employee. The locks on the side entrances are broken and anyone can just walk right in. There are stains everywhere, dirty sheets, bed bugs, cockroaches, tons of black mold. It's just so so dirty. The sinks are all leaking, the shower curtain rod didn't stay up, and visible dirt on almost everything. I saw a mom letting her kid run around the lobby barefooted, and this little girls feet were black with dirt from the floor that never gets cleaned. Extremely limited breakfast, they were usually out of things and multiple times we got sick directly after eating breakfast. All of the housekeeping staff was lovely, kind, and professional any time we encountered them. Employees Lisa and Leondra were especially great and we enjoyed/appreciated their help. Even though it was clear this place is a disaster, they both were giving it 100%.
This comfort inn needs to be shut down and Ceaser and Amanda...
Read moreThe location is very convenient although we were a little concerned about the directions we were getting from Google which directed us to use the car rental off ramp. The directions were accurate. You don’t turn right to the car rental at the light though, you turn left to go under the overpass.
Upon arrival, we were pleased to see a Blink Charging area which had 2 parking spots for charging an EV. We were renting a Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid so I was able to pull up and charge the vehicle using the Blink app without any issues. The location for charging is around 3-4 parking stalls to the left of the main entrance if you are facing it.
There is 240v charging and we left the vehicle charge overnight, even though it only needed around 2 hours to charge. There was no penalty to my knowledge for leaving the vehicle plugged in. We got in pretty late so we didn’t want to get up in the middle of the night to move the vehicle.
The main lobby was wonderfully decorated for the Christmas Holiday with the fireplace going. It was warm and inviting and the staff at the front desk were friendly and welcoming. I believe Beth was working at the time.
We checked in quickly and while there was only one small baggage cart, we were able to load it up and get to our room on the 3rd floor.
The room had one king bed and it was clean, well appointed with a large tv, couch and enough towels for two adults. The room was quiet and the bed was quite comfortable.
We unfortunately didn’t sleep all that well because of the smoke detector. It had a strobe light that would flash around every 15-20 seconds. It would light the room up so the only way to get around it was to face the window and cover your face. The other issue was someone was smoking weed which seeped in through the door. We used a bath towel to seal the bottom of the door and that seemed to help.
If it wasn’t for these issues, I think we would have had a great sleep.
The shower was a bit of a challenge. It was large and roomy but to turn the water on, you need to reach in, around the large pane of safety glass to access the shower control. If you aren’t quick, you will get a shot of cold water across your upper body. I made that mistake only once! 😂 Just a tip to be quick on turning it on.
Overall, I think this Comfort Inn is one of the best i’ve stayed at in terms of convenience, cleanliness...
Read moreFirst off, I would gladly stay at this hotel again if need be. The "pros" definitely outweigh the "cons". The staff is really top notch - friendly, professional, helpful. That includes the front desk, housekeeping and maintenance. They really go out of their way to make you feel valued. The hotel is well maintained and clean. Room was nice for the most part. (Need to get rid of the partial carpeting though) The indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi were wonderful. Parking is easy and though the neighborhood itself isn't the greatest, it is still conveniently located. The 1-25/1-40, airport, and a Smiths grocery store all relatively close by. It's a great value for the budget traveler.
But…a couple of issues…so know before you go… The free breakfast was kind of a stretch. If a hotel is going to advertise having a "free" breakfast available, they should either deliver on that or just not advertise it. It was inconsistent. Sometimes there was food, sometimes not and sometimes there were just granola bars and coffee. If they ran out of food by 8:00am they wouldn't restock, so if you didn't make it there in time, too bad. Breakfast was supposed to be available from 6:30am til 9:30am. The inconsistency with the advertised "free" breakfast was a little inconvenient. Maybe the inconsistency is due to the pandemic, like so many things.
The noise can be excessive on the first floor. The hallways where the 1st floor rooms are located are directly off to the left and right of the front desk and they are like echo chambers. People with loud voices at the front desk (guests and staff) sounded like they are right in front of your room door. This happened at very inconvenient hours (3am and 1am respectively). The ice machine on the first floor was also excessively loud. And imagine some nitwit filling their ice cooler at 6am? Why not put the ice machine in the little room where the vending machines were located?
So here's advice to the budget traveler considering this hotel. First off, its a really good place to stay but have earplugs on hand if you get a 1st floor room. There's a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room, so plan accordingly if you think you might want breakfast - you may need to provide your own.
Bring your swimsuit. The...
