Yale Car Wash, Ice and Water — Local services in Albuquerque

I needed to wash my car close to midnight and chose this car wash because it was the closest one at the time. Before tonight I had never heard of this car wash but I’m definitely glad I found it. I’ve been to a few self-service car wash joints in town and very few have an engine degreaser on the list of options like this place does. Also, while I usually wash my car during daylight hours, I have definitely visited a few after dark, on occasion. I felt much more secure at this one than others and that’s because this place is surrounded by hotels with brightly lit parking lots that stay that way all night. Not to mention, the car wash itself is well lit with plenty of surveillance cameras and just as many signs making customers aware of the surveillance. Another important thing to note is the fact that every bay accepts credit cards, including tap-to-pay, as a form of payment. The only reason I can’t give this place five stars is because I did get several drops of both the tire cleaner and car wax drip onto my clothes from the over-head hose connection on the ceiling that supplies the high...

Total rip off. The owners obviously give zero craps about this place.

And why should they? It's an honor system - you deposit your money and hope things work. When they don't, there's nothing you can do about it. Except leave a review and hope others avoid this place.

Deposited 75 cents into the vacuum. Nothing. No return of change either. Deposited 75 cents into another vacuum. This one actually turned on! But nope, NO suction at all. Down a buck fifty and still not able to vacuum my car. Sure, there was a third vacuum but they already fooled me twice.

Also, the hoses don't have a one minute warning, and I'm assuming the change machine was broken since the dude in the bay next to me asked if I could change a dollar for him.

Spent $6 here and my car still isn't clean. For a few more bucks I could have just gone to the fancy place down the street and avoided all this aggravation. These people don't care about you or your hard earned...

I was a little leery using this car wash, because so many car washes of that era are now in disrepair, the original owners having retired or passed on and the new owners not working to maintain the business.

When I saw there was some trash blowing around and the signage was all faded, I nearly didn't even try it. I'm from out of town and needed a quick car clean on my way to our next destination.
