Mambo Seafood — Restaurant in Houston

I used to love coming to mambos but my last visit was very disappointing. I came in to ask for a table for two with the young lady at the door, she asked her co-worker if she had a table but than had other people come up and started taking they're place in the queue while I waited. there was two other girls there with the same tablets that could have helped her. after about 7 other people getting a place in line I asked what was the wait. That is when she realized that she never got my information. I told her she took way more customers before me while I waited for about 10 and she just told me that it wouldn't be long since it's just a table for 2. I waited 20 minutes to be called after waiting for this lady. when I finally got seated the waitress was pleasant but she seemed overwhelmed with orders and didn't pay much attention to us. the portions are very small I had the #8 it has 6 shrimps and a stuffed crab. the shrimps were so tiny that it didn't even take up half the plate. my mother didn't get her food till almost 10-15 after mine and that's cause I asked about her dish. overall I'm very upset with how my evening went. The food is usually good and the service is usually not so good. The hostesses are rude and do not make you feel welcomed. The waitresses are not attentive nor helpful. Last weekend I went with my parents and son. We sat on the patio. We had been waiting for 10 minutes and we were even ready to order our meals. A family sat on the table next to us and got their drinks right away. We tried to get the waitress attention without being rude and she ignored us. The other table got their food before we even ordered our drinks. The waitress finally came to our table and we ordered drinks and food. We got aguas frescas, which are way too sweet, but we had to wait for an hour to get our food. When we got our food it was already cold. I ordered a grilled tilapia and it was too stiff/hard that I was not able to cut it. The veggies, which is an extra cost, consisted of 2 thin slices of carrots, 2 thin slices of zucchini, half of a small corn, and a jalapeno slice. I've been here a couple times and for the most part food is good. I've tried different plates and I've liked most of them, but this last time I went I was very disappointed. I was craving mambo style shrimp, usually they are my favorite. The last time I went the waitress seemed like she was in a bad mood. When she was at our table she seemed to rush us while ordering. When we did get our food it was super salty. We tried to eat waterever we could, but it was too salty. We don't like returning food so we just asked for our bill and went ahead and paid. I made the waitress aware of the food being so salty just so they know for other customers, but she turned it on us and said we'll you shouldn't have touched it if you didn't like it. We were a party of 12 and some of us tolerated a few shrimps and some of us just tried it and didn't eat anymore.
