The room was nice, when we were able to get into the room but that’s what the two stars are for. The Service we received was very poor. I booked this hotel to spend time with my husband for his 37th birthday.
Edit: I’m Adding this as the hotel Has responded in an attempt to make themselves look better. I was offered nothing for goodwill, and was not even made aware of paid parking. I booked a KING SUITE and not a regular room, but was almost forced to take a regular room due to their system error. No booking agent was ever contacted, and their security procedures include interrogations, inference of fraud by me as a patron, and not flat out lies. As I stated in the email sent to me matching their Google reply, Shame on you all. That lady thought it was fraud because I’m. Black person attempting to stay in Alpharetta. That could have been handled better without making me feel criminal and trying to force me to take a downgraded room.
Original Review: I reserved a room, the reservation showed as someone else when I arrived. The staff member interrogated me about the reservation and implied that my reservation was fraudulent. I showed her the email confirmation with my name and type of room etc, she repeatedly tried to offer me a lesser room due to “we experience a lot of fraud lately and if I give you this room, the person on the reservation (showing in the company system) may be upset if they arrive and can’t get the room.” I had to explain repeatedly that a system error is not the customer’s fault and I should not be inconvenienced. I was held up at the counter 45 minutes and was late to my next activity due to no fault of my Own. The front desk clerk finally gave me the room I actually reserved AFTER lying and saying the manager said she couldn’t and also attempting to offer me a regular room, I booked a suite and refused to take anything less standard. It was a horrific experience and I feel like my race...
Read moreThis is a nice hotel, very clean, comfortable and modern rooms. It's a very attractive hotel. Believe it or not I really enjoyed their shower. It has an Koehler shower head which is a nice kind of luxurious touch.
Since I do a lot of extended stays here in ATL area, I considered reserving a room for a couple of weeks for work. I did not decide to use this hotel because I feel like they are PRICE GOUGING their customers. I was going to make a 2 week reservation through the IHG website and the pricing for a room here is ridiculous! For example, you have a King standard room for one price, then you have a King Premium which is no different than a standard for a higher price. Then they will charge you extra for a room on the top floor. If you want a microwave then that makes it a Suite and they charge you even now money for that. Then there is the 12 dollar a night parking fee. Every time you turn around there is an extra fee or charge for something which really pissed me off! When you feel like you are being ripped off it really takes away from the overall experience of staying at this hotel!
So I needed to extend my reservation for another day. The hotel sent me a text at 10:30 pm saying that basically. I needed to pay another parking fee. I called to the front desk to get the clerk to add this charge to my room. I was told that they did not save my license plates number from my previous reservation. I don't know my license plates number . So I had to get dressed go outside at 1130 at night. and write my license plates number to give to the front desk clerk so they can charge me another 12 dollars. This place DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR GUEST all they want is your money! I will never come back to an EVEN HOTEL after...
Read moreWe spent a night here for a staycation and had a decent stay. Proximity to the Avalon area was great, and we could have even walked it if the weather had cooperated. The lobby and fitness center looked and smelled clean, and our room seemed to be neat as well. Inside, there's a fridge, a small pod-based coffee machine, and a bathroom with a rainfall shower. Compared to other hotels where we've stayed, our king sized room felt smaller than most. Later, I wondered if the cozier square footage contributed to the sensitive (and slightly noisy) HVAC system, which made the room go from chilly to hot within mere minutes.
One unique thing about the rooms is that they come equipped with exercise materials. We had a yoga mat, jump ropes, and an exercise ball by our bed, and judging from pictures others posted, it would seem that each room comes with something different. The TVs have free workout videos for those so inclined, but since we were already a little cramped for space and there was such a great fitness center downstairs, we didn't make much use of these.
Downstairs, there is a small store for comestibles, a bar, and a restaurant that serves made-to-order breakfasts. Unfortunately, breakfast isn't free, but it's a convenient option if you need to grab a quick bite.
Important to note: Parking is not free. There seems to be an external parking management company that oversees these spaces, and you'll need to pay through a website (accessible via the QR codes that are on the parking lot signs). It was $12 per night, which felt a little steep since this isn't a super premium hotel in a hotspot area. In the end, we paid it because there aren't any other parking options in the area but it's something we wished we knew...
