I went on the opening weekend of 5/6/22 and 5/7/22. On the 6th I went to see The Overbearing Weight of Massive Talent. It kept the same layout when it was the Movie Tavern, but they put a nice fresh coat of paint with some sleek black accented with green lights. They still have the bar at the front, and on that Friday before the movie they had a table with metal plated art for sale. The movie and the theater were great. There are darkwood floors and black sound panels on the walls. The seats are similar to Studio Movie Grill since they have the same owner, but instead of the light brown leather seats Look has black cloth seats with green diamond weave cross stitching which looks sick. Also they have an overhead lamp between seats, a qr code at the end of the armrest for the menu, a bold white letter and number at the top right corner of the headrest instead of it being on an armrest (e.g. C8), and something I've never seen before, they had a usb port in between the seat adjuster to charge your phone! On that Friday I had a PB&J Slider, fries, a strawberry shake, and chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream. The sliders were excellent, the fries were fantastic since they were hot and fresh along with having a perfect light coat of salt and pepper, the strawberry shake was a balanced blend of sour and sweet, and the cookies and ice cream were good too. For Saturday I had a Cheeseburger Slider, fries, Dr. Pepper, and Beignets with chocolate ice cream (which I loved all of). On Saturday however there were a few things for feedback. The first thing is that when I went to the ticket monitor you can't leave a space between seats, so I had to purchase tickets for my friend and I so we could sit together. I'm not sure if there's a policy for that, but there's not a mask mandate, so I don't get why you can't leave a space. Secondly, on the menu when you scroll through an item and order you have to backtrack to get a separate item, and when you do it would automatically default to the specials menu (the specific movie themed menu for Dr. Strange and Sonic 2 at the time) instead of what I feel should be defaulting to the main menu, have the themed movie specials at the top of the page, and then scroll down to the main menu. Lastly, when I saw Dr. Strange it took an hour for the kitchen to deliver our food. I found out that they only had three cooks, and it was their opening weekend, so I won't blame them for staffing and the technical issues they had. Overall I loved the experience and sense of agency when you get your own tickets and order off the menu yourself along with the atmosphere. I can't wait to go back, and I'm glad to have a theater much closer...
Read more2023 - Miss movie tavern but the replacement seems to be doing ok... Only downfall is they NEVER seems to have large popcorn bags! People are friendly so that makes up for it ;) 7-2-24 - updated review - I really Really miss movie tavern... You no longer get "bags" of popcorn now, they come in medium size bowls now which makes it hard to take left overs home. These "bowls" cost $10.00 each and we generally get 5 of them with 7 large drinks. Drinks are $6.00 each. I quit buying any cooked food here because the portion size is what you would think of a kids menu portion from chili's. Needless to say its $100.00 + tip + movie ticket costs.... Today was a little annoying... today we only went with 3 of us to watch Horizon which is a 3 hour movie. We ordered alcohol, cooked food, 2 bowls of popcorn, 4 soft drinks, 10.00 oreo ice cream thing and 2.5 hours into the movie my daughter wanted a little more popcorn so I have never tried it but I assumed the "large" popcorn would come with a refill... its popcorn... I had to pay another $10.00 + 20% tip to get my 13 year old some more popcorn on top of the $150+ we already paid here today... As a business owner myself im constantly fighting to keep costs down but at the same time I really really try to make sure any customer that IS paying inflated prices doesn't feel ripped off at the end of the experience. cmon Look Cinemas... These bowls of popcorn cost you what .50-.75 cents to make? This has me wondering if the $6.00 soft drinks have refills or not... This is another what .30-.50 cent cost? At these prices atleast "1" free refill wouldn't break the bank and easily take away 90% of any of these kinds of complaints. Place is still clean and friendly staff and the a/c works great which is a must in Texas! Update: 6-23-25 - Don't waste your time... Drive to South Ft Worth and visit Movie Tavern instead. I cant believe Look Theater is taking over the Movie Tavern Bedford location.. That was a nice location that is going to be ran into the ground just like this one... Who ever is making the decisions at the top should be removed asap before things cannot be saved... Just read the reviews, things customers are complaining about are easily fixed and would cost the...
Read moreI gave them two stars because I'm old and have been going to that theater for decades, so I know how much they cleaned it up and improved the seating, but beyond that, not a good experience. Here are my issues: Signage/Greeters - no one was at the front and there wasn't any signage as to what to do from there, so I went to the bar where I was ignored for a couple of minutes while it appeared employees were checking in or something. I found a laminated menu sitting on the bar so started to pick out what I wanted and then the bartender told me I could just order food from my phone using a QR code at my seat, but let me take the menu with me. As I was walking back to my theater a ticket taker appeared from the back to tell me what the bartender had already said. This didn't cause me to drop a star, but worth noting. I got to my seat and used the QR code to get to their site to order food. 1st star dropped away when I saw they serve Pepsi products. I'm sorry, but that's not okay (when I came home and told my wife she said she wasn't ever going to that theater lol). 2nd star dropped when I ordered movie nachos and it wouldn't let me customize my order to add an extra cup of cheese and cancel the side of jalapenos (or do a substitution). If you're going to force people to order electronically, have a versatile system that offers more options. I also couldn't order my popcorn with layered butter because the system didn't allow that. 3rd star lost was due to the food delivery service. They brought my nachos first (which tasted okay even though I wanted the old-school kinda nachos). Then about 3-5 minutes later they brought my popcorn with the butter on the side (like in the earlier days of COVID). It's a little messy to dress my own popcorn in the dark, so thanks for the two napkins for my entire meal. I ate some more nachos and was getting really thirsty, but still no drink. Finally I found the button on the front of my seat (not visible if you're sitting down) and hit it - that's when someone finally thought to show up with my Pepsi (yuck). Why on earth you would bring two salty foods long before you thought to bring a drink, I have no idea. Either way, there are too many better theater options in the area for me to go back to this one. It wasn't terrible, but it doesn't compete with the theaters around it and the pricing didn't...
