This was my second time to come in. On my first visit, they were out of most of the sweet bagels, so I was hesitant to rate before.
On this visit, I called my order (for a couple baker's dozens) in an hour in advance to make sure they would have plenty. I made it clear I only wanted the sweet choices. When I arrived, they were cutting the bagels for my order. I noticed that about half of them were sesame, poppy seed, garlic or plain. When I told him again that I only wanted sweet ones, he put those back and got more sweet ones. They were out of some. He made a comment that I wiped them out, which I felt was uncalled for. If 26 bagels (called in an hour in advance) wipes you out, you're not planning and preparing right. He made a big show of telling me he was including an extra bagel. After we left, I asked my wife to count them. One had 12 and the other had 13. So much for an extra. Instead, we were shorted.
The bagels and homemade cream cheese are fabulous, which is the only thing that saved them from a poor rating/review. Based just on the service I received (both times), I would rate them a 2 on service. But the food is a solid 5. So on average, a 3.5. I went back and forth about rounding down to 3 or up to 4. Based on other reviews, I think the service is usually better than I experienced, so...
Read moreMy husband and I started coming here because it was a tiny place with good quality breakfast items. Reminded me of my days growing up in NYC. The girl who appears to be the owner (Asian young girl) has such a condescending attitude. If a mistake was made on an order she puts on this nasty face for being asked to please fix it. Won’t even apologize for the mistake and just hands over your order back with such a displeased face and gesture. She always looks mad and bitter. I don’t know how she expects to have a successful business with this atrocious customer service. She will begin losing customers soon just based off of her attitude. 80% success of any business is the customer service you provide and how you deliver that customer service. How sad that people don’t realize this in order to maintain and secure a business and keep customers coming back again and again… It’s all in the way you treat people. Who knows, maybe I’ll open a business and learn from her...
Read moreGOSH, this place is good! They have many yummy, healthy options (and a few sweeter treats, if that’s what you’re looking for). I had a Garden Fresh with a whole wheat bagel. It was delicious & prepared fresh.
I will also add that my espresso cubano was perfect... I could taste the sweetness! Too many times in DFW I have been disappointed by so-called “cubanos”, but this cup was perfect.
This will definitely be a spot I return to for breakfast! I can’t wait to try their lunch options, as well.
EDIT: Forgot to mention... the man who served me my breakfast and coffee was very pleasant!! Obvious that he cares about the shop &...
