American Folk Art & Framing — Attraction in Asheville

This place is fantastic! It has such lovingly curated and joyous folk art eye-candy. Since moving to the area in 2002, I've made an effort whenever downtown to at least look through the windows. In my mind the gallery and artwork therein are inextricably linked with Asheville. I love walking around the open, clean, and orderly displays and have always been treated kindly when perusing, even though it did take years before I bought my first small piece of art and a few more before I bought another. I am really grateful that American Folk Art and Framing is here in Asheville and look forward to visiting it (and checking out the cool artwork online) regularly in the years to come. My friend and I were visiting Asheville on an art-buying trip and wandered into this gallery after stopping at Haun and Blue Spiral galleries. At both the other galleries, we were greeted by friendly staff who allowed us to leisurely browse, touch, and enjoy. In this gallery, we were semi-greeted by a dower-faced woman who rudely told us not to touch and then stormed away. As we were leaving, there was no thank you or good-bye. I wanted to shop at your delightful Folk Art Shop. We entered on Sunday and we’re told no mask no shopping. This was June 12th.
