WE ALL GOT BONED!! Bones (Bone?) was an excellent host. He was so passionate. Our driver was cool too! He let us know James Taylor is in fact still alive. Who woulda known?... We had a small group of family go on Saturday night. We did the ghost tour and it was so informative and funny and so unexpected! We loved it! Bone was great, so into it and very playful. I must say before I keep reviewing that there was a gal up front that Bone had asked more than once to please be quiet, she was chatting quite a bit and was disruptive. She ended up giving Bone the middle finger because he simply reminded her that she missed a really funny joke, which she did! She took this personal and gave him the finger. He played it very cool and professionally. When she then turned around to the audience in the bus and gave us all the middle finger and used profanity Bones asked her to leave. She was so rude, cursed at Bones, really killed the vibe. Thankfully Bones is a pro and bounced right back and we were off. Thank you for being so professional and handling this situation as absolutely best as it could have been handled. The tour was great. The "cast" is so awesome and playful. Absolutely recommend this bus tour! You get to see some really cool places of Asheville too. Worth it!
I was almost eaten by pig man!! He called me a lumberjack. Then Bones shredded on the guitar and sang some Ghost Busters theme for us too.
Okay, not only is the bus super cool, decked out, and makes you want to scream and wave to every person on the street, but the inside of the LaZoom HQ is so cool! They've got karaokee that's free. Plenty of drink options. Boozy and Non-Boozy. Check this place out, check the tour out. I suggest the ghost tour but that's just my opinion. Keep up the great work...
Read moreHilarious! My dad came to visit and we were looking for something comedic and different to do. I had never been on a Lazoom tour. Comedic tours can be kind of hit or miss - but we decided on the ghost tour and it was exactly what I was hoping! Actually, better than I even expected! Super silly and also informational with super cool facts for the macabre history lover. Beezle-bus, the guide from the other side, was super engaging and funny, from his character voices to his expressions. Great mix of dry humor, wonderfully bad puns, sarcasm, jokes and great interaction with audience! Also his outfit was on point!! And Andrew, who ran around playing multiple characters, was and absolute ball of pure hilarious chaos! He had me dying with his physical humor, ridiculous costumes, voices and dancing. They played well off each other and both their delivery was on point! Tour was a good length, and fun and attention grabbing the whole way through. Definitely wasn't predictable and had some pretty hilarious surprises! Super great production value, well put together, and everyone was on top of their game - without it seeming over rehearsed or burnt out. You could tell the performers were having fun as well! No spoilers, but they definitely do not take the ghost thing seriously, so this tour is great for skeptics of the paranormal. I do highly recommend booking a later time for the ghost tour, so that it's dark out! And props to the bus driver Mike for navigating that giant bus in downtown Asheville! Also I don't know if it was someone sitting near us but like, the bus smelled good??? Anyways, loved it!!! Will definitely be bringing more friends and fam who come to visit...
Read moreThe review is based off the 9:15pm tour on 6/22.
My recent experience on the ghost tour was deeply unsatisfactory. The man who did the warm up, prior to the tour leaving the parking, really set a negative tone. His humor fell flat and crossed the line with body-shaming and misogynistic comments, which ruined the atmosphere and alienated attendees. As someone who loves comedy & crowd work, this wasn’t it.
In contrast, the female tour guide was a standout, demonstrating professionalism and genuine wit that kept everyone engaged. However, the second male actor's rambling and misguided attempts at humor detracted from the experience, disrupting the tour's flow and failing to entertain. Like an SNL skit, he went on too long.
Overall, the tour's potential was undermined by these issues. I cannot recommend this ghost tour due to the uncomfortable atmosphere created by inappropriate remarks and the inconsistent quality of performances, from the male actor.
During one stop, an unhoused man was sleeping under a doorway, across the street. The male actor, unaware of his surroundings, encouraged the bus to yell. The yelling was not directed at the unhoused sleeping man but it was off putting. I understand this was part of the tour, but I would suggest looking at the surroundings (including across the street) before engaging in...
