blue spiral 1 — Attraction in Asheville

I loved this place! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with such a warm welcome. Even the creaky, wooden floors added to the charm. We spent a couple hours perusing all three floors. The caliber of some of these pieces were just incredible! I loved Jamaal Barber's 'Blessed' piece. It was the perfect urban eclectic vibe. I'd love to see a lot more of his work. The detail of some of sculpture work, the Lion and Lioness pieces by Mary Engle in particular, was out of this world. The glass knitting work by Carol Milne was phenomenal and hands down my favorite entire collection was by Duy Huynh. His work was breathtakingly beautiful! Blue Spiral is one the best (and oldest) galleries in Asheville. It's three floors of art are amazing and the artist they highlight are fantastic. I used to visit Asheville as a tourist and this gallery was on our must visit list every time we came. Now that I live here I love attending their gallery openings whenever I can.

We are so fortunate to have this amazing gallery in Asheville. This place carries some of my favorite local artists, like Robert Johnson, as well as an amazing selection of other modern artists in diverse mediums, including paintings, ceramics, wood, and glass.
