Kress Emporium — Attraction in Asheville

Horrible customer service. I came to the counter with an item to purchase. There were two women behind the counter. Neither of them made eye contact with me. One of the women took the price tag off wrote something down and started to talk to the other woman behind the register. The woman handling my purchase still did not make eye contact with me and just put her hand out for my credit card. I asked for the total and she looked at me as if I was being rude for interrupting her conversation with the other employee. She told me my total and I put my card in her hand. After the transaction was approved the same woman slide my card back to me it nearly flew off the counter on my side. She did not notice or care, because she was still talking to the other employee.

At this point the other employee was wrapping anf bagging my item. It was not handed to me once it was ready, but just left on the other side of the counter. I walked to the other side of the countet and asked if my item was ready to go? Again, I was treated and looked at as though I was the rude one. I picked up my bag and walked over to the other store Kress 2.

I found another item in this store to purchase. I went to that register in that store and who did I see behind the register? You guessed it! One of the same woman. The woman who was wrapping and bagging my first item. She again would not make eye contact with me and would not speak to me. What is the deal...

I found a perfect place in Asheville for all my holiday and special occasions gift giving all under one roof at Kress Emporium! I snapped a few pictures of my favorite things in case my kids read my reviews and want to splurge on the artistic decor or jewelry for the next Mother's Day gift. The building does not look like much from the outside but once you step through the double glass doors the space opens up and there are individual vendors from across the globe throughout the large historic store. There was a downstairs with more gifts and home decor that I wanted to explore but our time was limited so this fun store will certainly be on my list for my next visit to Asheville. Definitely find your way to Kress Emporium and have your gift list ready because you will likely find treasures here for everyone...

I love this place! I've been coming here for years and always find something good! There were a few different stalls here than the last time I came. I actually like this place more than Woolworths! There were new vendors this time. I absolutely love Art of abandonment. It's so cool! There was all this butterfly art this time that was beautiful! There were butterflies I've never seen before! Makes me want to create something like that too! I found a gorgeous bowl to add to my collection. My first was from here too actually and they still have similar ones. Leaves joined to make a bowl.
