Tri-State Escape Breakout Games — Attraction in Ashland

I've been to a lot of escape rooms. This is one of the best. I've been through 3 rooms here. This review is based on experiences in all three.

The rooms are very well done. The decor helps the experience feel immersive. These rooms feel like real places and not decorated boxes. There is a mix of low and high tech. The focus is on puzzle and not tedious tasks. Of the three rooms we've tried, I've never felt like I was doing busy work. I don't enjoy more than a couple of combo locks and I don't consider straight up math problems to be good escape room material. These rooms didn't go overboard with combo locks. (We did the mansion, jail break and asylum.) The staff improved the experience. They seemed to care and helped make the experience fun.

I'm starting to think less of this place, we did Waverly and I didn't like it, the game masters we had gave us clues about information we already knew about, and she said there was going to be no live actors and we even requested none to be in there at one point, the dolls and the dark were bad enough for me, I felt like I was at my breaking point and I was scared to tears. It's not even just that one room, we've had that happen on other rooms that we did up there! They have a microphone in there for a reason when we ask for a clue, so why give us a peice of information back as a clue when we repeated it 500 times, would've recommended this place at first but now it seems to be just an...

Wife and I completed the Room 13 escape room, puzzles were fine. Staff seemed all over the place, the girl that greeted us wasnt the one who lead us back and introduced the room who also wasnt the one who congradulated us at the end. The clues given were based mostly on information we already had and took a decently long time to relay, and kept them up for far too long so we had very little idea of how much time we had left. Saving grace was the cost, cheaper room for the two of us so it didnt feel like too much of a waste of money, feel bad for larger groups though. Will not...
