Rio Grande Trail — Attraction in Aspen

One of the best riding and hiking trails in the Aspen Valley. It's not a difficult route. It's fairly level, without steep climbs or sharp turns. In the winter months it's also a good cross country skiing path. The route parallels the Roaring Fork river and it's one of the most beautifully scenic rides I take. Quiet, peaceful, only occasionally is it disturbed by aggressive hikers who deliberately walk right in the middle of this wide double track, and yell at anyone who tries to pass....

Really enjoyed riding on this trail from Aspen down to Woody Creek on our non e-bike bikes. Wish we had had more time to ride even farther. Really enjoyed the spring fed water fall and the views of the river from this Rail-Trail. Parking was $8 at the public lot next to the park...

My wife and I were here for my birthday. Beautiful October day! I highly recommend this ride along the river. So many great places to stop and take photos. My only suggestion is to rent an ebike. We don’t bike a ton and that extra little boost from time to time would have been nice....
