I want to share my experience at your restaurant during my visit to Aspen with some friends. We decided to try your food because we enjoy Mexican cuisine and wanted something different.
Upon arrival, a waiter told us we could sit wherever we liked. Once we settled in, he came to take our drink order. I asked for his recommendation on an appetizer, and his response was simply, “everything is good,” but his attitude was far from welcoming. From that moment, I noticed that he was not interested in serving us, and his demeanor felt distant.
When it was time to order food, I asked another question about the dishes, and his reply was short and serious. The whole situation felt uncomfortable, as if our presence was a burden to him.
On the positive side, the food was excellent. However, just as I was starting to enjoy my second drink, a waitress came over with the payment terminal and asked if I was ready to pay. I was shocked by this, as I was still consuming my drink. I responded that I had just started, but from that moment, the atmosphere became even more uncomfortable.
Later, when we were ready to pay, one of my friends tried to call the waiter, but due to the loud music, he couldn’t hear us. To get his attention, my friend whistled. When the waiter finally approached, he reacted in an extremely rude manner, angrily stating that he was not a dog and that whistling was very disrespectful. I was shocked by his response, as there was absolutely no bad intention—my friend was simply trying to be heard in a noisy setting.
I never intended to offend anyone, and we even apologized in case he felt disrespected. However, the treatment we received was unacceptable. I visited your restaurant to enjoy a nice meal, and while the food was outstanding, the staff’s attitude left a lot to be desired.
I hope you take this feedback seriously and work on improving customer service because it’s unfortunate that a place with such great food has such...
Read moreI came here while visiting aspen for the first time and unfortunately I was very disappointed. Firstly lets start off with the price. It was $30 dollars for a Carne Asada plate. This is definitely on the high side especially since the steak portion was not very good. Worse though was the portions of the rice and beans. very stingy. On top of that the rice is bland, and not authentic mexican rice. The beans flavor wise I had no complaints. I think for this price they should also definitely include a grilled jalapeño and cebollitas. I got a couple tortillas which was good but I got only one very small "cup" of salsa and no plastic utensils for this to-go order! couldn't eat it right away I had stop at another store when I noticed. No napkins either. Overall I think this place has potential, especially since the restaurant is actually quite nice inside and has a good atmosphere. The Prices need to be reduced and the portions need to be larger and include necessities on to-go orders. $6.50 for one taco is Insane! straight robbing the rich people...
Read moreI believe in supporting small local businesses, which is why I visited Taco Pina as soon as they opened. The first time I went there, the experience was just okay. There were some mistakes in my order and the food wasn't hot, but I cut them some slack because they had only opened two days prior.
However, I went back yesterday and it was a disappointment. The tables were dirty, and we had to sit and wait for a waiter to come and give us the menu, but no one showed up. The few people who were serving were busy cleaning and setting glasses on the table. After waiting for fifteen minutes, we decided to leave. I was hungry, and I didn't feel like giving my hard-earned money to bad service.
If they continue to provide service like this, it is unlikely they will survive in Aspen. Unfortunately, if someone asks me about this restaurant, I will have to tell...
