This is the worst experience with a company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Why in the world would you pull items the day of the pickup rather than the day the sale was made, and furthermore, why would you not contact the customer at any point? Today for my pickup (which had not at any point shown as being delayed) I drove an HOUR AND A HALF to get to Atlanta to get my shelf because it said it could not be delivered and this is the shelf that I wanted. Regardless, I ordered the shelf a week ago on August 10th (today is August 16th) BECAUSE I saw that it was low in stock. When I arrived, they gave me the shelving base with no shelf. I asked where the rest of my order was and was informed that I would not be receiving my shelf and that I could see about receiving another color (which they do not have for the specific shelf I bought). Also, it was extremely rude to suggest I leave with a different product than the one I wanted and paid for. I did not drive an hour and a half for a shelf I did not want, nor did I drive an hour and a half to not receive a shelf I bought and paid for a week ago. I would be less upset if at ANY point I was informed of the process of only pulling items from stock the day of the pickup. Had I known this was the case, which irregardless of this incident is an extremely ridiculous and frankly unintelligent process, I would have either taken my business elsewhere or ordered the shelf for that day of pickup. In any case, this is extremely important information to give to customers before their purchases. For people who donāt live less than about 25 minutes from the store (which is about how far I would be willing to drive to repeat this absolute nonsense a second time (which I wonāt be doing)) this policy is downright insane and, for lack of better wording, stupid. Thankfully the management team has a molecule of respect and understanding for their clients, as I was given a resolution after speaking with a manager. Even so, as a fellow customer service employee, I would advise your entire team to go over problem solving and speaking with customers, as the treatment by the employees (not so much the management) was some of the most insensitive behavior I have seen. I was extremely upset about not having my order, which again, is insane. There is no point in placing an order for pickup ahead of time if my order wonāt be ready. By that logic, you should just get rid of your pickup system scheduling entirely since it serves no purpose. To continue my point, to be told that I should settle for another product, without any offer of an actual solution, is just shocking. Once again, why would I place an order for an item and just get whatever they have available at the moment? This issue could be resolved by dissolving your inane method of pulling items day of pickup, completely forgoing scheduled pickups and only allowing for day of, or even just having a modicum of intelligence regarding purchases for this company. Needless to say (though I will say it anyways, because I am still extremely appalled by the service and experience today) this company has let me down entirely in their process. Your employees poor customer communication, support, and service are both disappointing and frustrating yet not wholly surprising given the rest of this process. I donāt even have a purpose in writing this other than hoping someone who reads these will realize how wholly unacceptable this whole system is. If I do not receive my shelf in a timely manner, please expect more of these, as I have nothing better to do with the time I had allotted to decorating and setting up my shelving.
edit: Hello everyone, itās me again. Two weeks later, and still no shelf. Yes. Two weeks. I am frankly appalled at how horrible this IKEA is. It would almost be impressive, if it wasnāt caused by a severe lack of intellect. The customer service team is one of the worst, and it made very apparent that this issue is not just within the Atlanta location but rather throughout IKEA. You all should be ashamed...

I have ordered online a dining set - a table and 6 chairs The delivery was on time (August 2), but when we opened boxes we discovered that one of the main parts of the table was damaged while delivering I turned to the customer service of #ikea and opened a case for replacement of the damaged piece The co-worker (this is how they call people who work in customer service) told me that it takes 5-7 days to deliver the replacement (it was August 5th) After 8-9 days passed I texted the customer service once again asking about my replacement They told me that everything is going on well but they need few more days I waited few days more and texted again - the co worker told me that my item is dispatched and will be shipped soon After a week I texted again and this time the coworker couldnāt find my case information She passed my case to the person from another department and this person told me that there are some problems with delivery but Iāll receive it in 2-3 days
I gave them 7 more days and after that texted again - the same situation followed - coworker couldnāt find my case info and transferred me to another department where IKEA representative told me that there is no possibility to ship my replacement because there is ālarge number of ordersā and he recommended to get refund for my purchase
This means that I was waiting for the replacement from the 5th to the 30 of August and spent my personal time texting with customer service of IKEA and now I gave to give my purchase back and wait 10-14 days for getting my money back !!! (And the service representative told me that after they get back the item they are going to evaluate it and decide on the amount of money refunded!!!!)
The conclusion is - there is no customer service and support, no problem solving, poor quality and communication, no compensation for inconvenience and incompetence of the staff
I can just mention that another item from this order was also incomplete and the replacement came broken and other replacement was not delivered (though there was an order)
Iām tired of this process, stressed, disappointed with #ikea and all their service starting with delivery and ending with support
I was planning to buy much more items there but now Iām not and do not recommend buying anything bigger that a plastic box...

To start off plenty of parking today and it seems that a couple of people came prepared and brought U-Hauls, lol. There is also a place for family parking as well as a parking deck with escalators and elevators. There is also a place to plug in for all of you electric car people ( donāt know why starting singing ā Electric Slideā for those of you old enough to know that one. Guess I could have gone for āNo Parking Baby, No Parking on the Dance Floorā Ok back to it ,the restaurant is OPEN!!!! I know that there are a lot of you that are happy about that It looks like the new IKEA Catalog is out and also Iām seeing a lot of sales and new items. They are out of a few things phone chargers, rechargeable batteries , but I did find a great score, a heavy duty shelving unit, great for bathrooms kitchen, laundry room or if you are like me right by your recliner so once I sit down I donāt have to get back up, lol. But even though it comes in 4 colors they only had one color left, but hey Black goes with everything. Did I mention it was $9.99.. Great Deal, but you always find good deals at IKEA. I tried to get a few pictures of the sales, but Iām sorry to say that I got busy shopping and slacked off So Sorry š„Alright now, very convenient to apartments a little 3 hole golf range ( across the street, just tell hubby to give you the Visa and you know where heāll be). Public transportation nearby even a shuttle to take you back and forth to the train it runs about every 15 minutes and goes through Atlantic Station if you didnāt get enough shopping in, thereās stores like DSW, Victoriaās Secret, Dillards, H & M Forever 21 , Bath and Body great places to eat, Movie Theater and much much more So pack a bag or just buy one cause your gonna be here awhile....
