Ok. My first time visiting the Home Depot Backyard was for the purpose of attending the Night Market. I had heard about the Night Market previously and was really looking forward to experiencing it, however, I was greatly underwhelmed.
I purchased parking in advance ($12), but trying to find the Orange Deck was sooo difficult! The address they provide isn’t really helpful, so if using Waze, just type in Orange Deck (20 Lower Andrew) and it’ll take you right to the deck. The Orange Deck is literally right behind the Home Depot Backyard so it’s just a short elevator ride to get to the entrance. Major plus!
Now on to the Night Market. I originally planned to purchase the $80+ ticket, but my gut told me not to, therefore, I purchased the cheaper ticket for $45+, which came with 3 food and 2 beverage tokens (more than enough)! I was expecting there to be lots of food and beverage vendors throughout the market, but came to see that there were maybe 6 food vendors and 3 beverage vendors (highly disappointing). The food options were greatly limited! There were only 2 food vendors that intrigued me, out of the 6 that were in attendance, leaving me with 1 food token. While I was sitting eating and enjoying the live music, a random family came up to me and gave me all their tokens (6 drink tokens), which I thought was just my luck, but I quickly realized it was because there were only 3 beverage vendors, and all had 1 drink they were serving (pretty boring). Honestly, my fave part were the arts and craft vendors. I was able to purchase some handmade goodies, so at least I didn’t leave empty handed! Some very talented folks! Overall, I would recommend coming at least once to the Night Market to experience it, but that’s about it. Oh and I love how they laid out the tables and decorations, very...
Read moreThe old school backyard concert was a big disappointment. It started 2 hours late. The Whispers song 3 songs and after that it was another 2 hours before we got another group. All of the groups that they brought on after the Whispers was local groups that should have came on at 4 when the show was supposed to start. This was the worst promotion. It couldn't stand up to the flashback concert back in the day. They need to give us a refund. It wasn't enough restroom nor enough food trucks to service everyone. How in the world the food truck people take out a tip for you standing in line for 2 hours. Very disappointing for the money that they were charging this should've been Wednesday wind down for free. Then tricked up like Johnny Gill was going to perform and all he did was make an appearance to introduce the legends. Kool and the gang and Maze another hour later. The Commodores didn't hit the mark without Lionel Richie. People start leaving they were bored and disappointed . We didn't even stay to wait on Maze. If we wanted to hear a DJ all night we could've went to a club. A lot of people said that they will never pay for a concert with this production again. That's the main reason we should've been able to bring our own food and drinks. It wouldn't have matter as much if they were drinking alchohol and eating. Instead of...
Read morePurchased 13 tickets for the S.E.M.G event. Arrived @ 4 and had nowhere to sit. Finally found a spot but the show started almost 2 hours late. Watched the Whispers perform 3 songs then 3 local acts followed. Our entire party of 13 decided we had enough and left 30 mins into the show. This was the worse event we had ever experienced. The vendors were over priced and said they could not sell us 13 bottles of water because they needed to be able to have them for other concert attendees. WE ARE CONCERT ATTENDEES. The restroom lines were an hour wait and women started using the male restooms so they finally opened the restrooms in the stadium. The sound was awful and this was a disaster from the start. The promoters over-sold tickets and did not take in consideration social distancing due to Covid. Our party paid $700 for a 30min show and the venue was still selling tickets when we arrived. Whomever this promoters is should stop having events. I will NEVER go to another event hosted or promoted by DJ Niecy. They have no understanding of why we are upset or complaining and are too self absorbed into making and keeping money regardless of their short fall to give the people what they paid for. This concert was a HOTT MESS and that's an understatement.
