Since we had all day to wait, the reviews to this bbq place drew us in because my husband and I love good bbq. A 45 minute wait on a Sunday at 1:00 only increased our anticipation. We finally got seated and after a very long wait, we finally recieved our drink order. His Coors light did come in an opened Coors light metal bottle with a dented top, but it wasn't Coors light. We're quite certain it was bud light draft poured into an old bottle (oh the implications). His second one he ordered, he ordered with the cap on because the first wasn't what the bottle said, and the second bottle with the cap on was in fact what the bottle represented. So finally we got food. We ordered two meals of the same thing, but after an hour sitting at the table, got ONE cold meal to share. The ribs were un cut, with nothing to cut them with and the brisket was fatty and minimal at best. And one of the sides was completely wrong. So I asked the waitress "what is this? A complimentary starter for our wait? This isn't what we ordered, and we ordered two meals". We clarified our order, mentioned a lack of ability to gnaw on 3 ribs with a fork, she said she was going to bring us knives... a butter knife doesn't cut cold dry ribs very good, but whatever. When we got our second meal that came with cornbread and some pickles the first meal didn't include, it was just as well, because even though the second meal was a little warmer, it was just as fatty and unappetizing brisket as the first one, and the ribs were just as dry. I enjoyed the pinto beans which were quite garlicky, but husband ate two bites throughout the two shared meals and can't stand them. Same with cole slaw. I thought it was ok, hubby ate one bite and had enough of it. The manager did comp our meal and explained brisket to us - there's a fatty side and a lean side... yes, we know. He started to take our plates and we explained that though we're disappointed, we're still HUNGRY and will pay for our meal. We've eaten bbq around the country - we've been in some dives with excellent bbq at great prices. We've been to upscale with larger price tags or lesser portions. This place was high priced, meager portions and terrible quality. And at 1:00 on a Sunday afternoon they were out of the potato salad we wanted, but just as well. The picture is of the $19 Blue Sky,...
Read moreMy recent dining experience at Twin Smokers BBQ left much to be desired, and I am compelled to give it a 2-star rating primarily due to the lackluster food. While the service was acceptable, the overall quality of the dishes failed to meet my expectations for a memorable BBQ meal.
First and foremost, I found the food to be rather ordinary and lacking that wow factor I associate with a good BBQ joint. Specifically, the pulled pork, which should be bursting with flavor, left me disappointed. It seemed bland and required drenching in sauce to achieve any semblance of taste. In my opinion, a well-prepared pulled pork should stand on its own, without the need for excessive sauce to compensate for its lack of flavor.
The sides, priced at a steep $6 each, were also underwhelming. The cole slaw, while not terrible, was nothing exceptional, and the mac and cheese suffered from being excessively greasy and lacking in taste. The high price for these sides was difficult to justify, given their unremarkable quality.
Although I managed to finish my plate, the overall value for money was questionable, especially when spending around $50 for two people to eat and then leaving the meal feeling dissatisfied.
I understand that different regions have their own take on BBQ, and perhaps Twin Smokers BBQ's style simply doesn't align with my personal preferences. However, having experienced some outstanding BBQ establishments in Texas, this particular experience fell short in comparison. For a BBQ joint that aims to impress its patrons, it's essential to deliver exceptional flavors and consistently delicious dishes.
In conclusion, Twin Smokers BBQ receives a 2-star rating from me. The service was acceptable, but the lackluster and underwhelming food failed to live up to the standard I expect from a memorable BBQ dining experience. With higher prices for sides and an overall sense of dissatisfaction, I regret spending my money on a meal that didn't live up to my...
Read more2nd visit to try the beef ribs…
1st visit was AMAZING!!! *. Purchased $200 worth my first visit and brought some back to my coworkers *. Coworkers loved it so much many went in on their own. One team had a catering event the following week and they all gave amazing reviews about the food. Hands down everyone enjoyed this new secret I just shared
Here’s what I’ve had during both visits
*. Spring mountain chicken - JUICY, TENDER AND FULL OF FLAVOR *. Ribs - well seasoned and very nice without sauce. Smokey with a really good taste *. Sausages- crisp with bold flavor and a hint of cheese but not overly Brisket (lean - sliced). Not so flavorful. Almost bland
I spent about $200 each trip. My office spent about $500-600 and they LOVED LOVED LOVED IT.
Overall, the people are truly super friendly. From the lady who opens the restaurant with a smile and hello to the persons taking and preparing your order. Amazing people!
Feedback: One manager was very very rude (light skinned lady with an orange shirt). A pleasant and professional man was in the middle of confirming my order when this young lady interrupted about “limes”. He politely said “please hold on” and she came and got in his face (yes, in his FACE) to make her demands clear. I would have fired her. I was livid to see another coworker be so disrespectful . The owner was present and said nothing. They have a beautiful team and really good food. You never know who’s in your restaurant and that behavior should NEVER be tolerated. I was the first customer there and sat at the bar. She was literally within inches of me during the process and never said “hello, do you want a drink, is everything ok”. I would have crossed this place off my list if this were my only visit.
Parking - limited. Park across the street
You will enjoy the food. The sides I have never gotten but I’ve received “mixed” reviews from people who came on my...
