TL;DR I WAS WRONGLY ACCUSED OF SHOPLIFTING AND DIDNâT RECEIVE AN APOLOGY.
It was on September 29th at about noon time when I bought a pair of blue shoes from Goodwill right next door. I thought of looking for another pair of shoes at the store called Discovery shop which is about a hundred feet away from my car. As I walked into Discovery Shop with my newly bought Goodwill shoes, I saw a pair of brown shoes which I tried on, but I didnât like, so I put them back on the shelf where I got them from re-wearing my Goodwill shoes.
As I was approaching the door ready to leave the store, one of the workers blocked me telling me saying, âYou got our shoes and left your old shoes in the shelf.â (In the hearing of at least two costumers who told me: âthat was rude â referring to the workerâs statement. I told the lady âno, I put back your shoes in the shelf, and these are my shoes â as I pointed to my blue shoes. As I was going out the door, to my surprise, the same worker came back to me and said âWe saw you come in with old looking shoes and now youâre leaving with our shoes.â
I told her âDo you want to see the receipt of my shoes to prove you that I bought these from the Goodwill store next door?â She left me and never said sorry. Feeling hurt from the the workerâs wrong accusation, I asked one of the workers who the boss is and she said it was the one who talked to you. I told her, âI think I deserve an apology.â She didnât bother to call the boss so she could...
Read moreTheir mission is wonderful. BUT when you call to verify if they will accept your donation and they say YES I even asked if it was too much for the area what do you do. I was told that they would turn the extra over to the Cancer Society and they would handle it. So I load the car the next day. I ring the back door, that person says NO we won't take your donation since your items are business pant suits. I even explain I was told yes. This staff person would not even acknowledge iwhat other staff had said. Okay why was I told on the phone yes and now that I am here no? Really sad since most of my donation still had the tags on them. This has left me with a sour taste ... since I can not trust what I am told on the phone, I won't be making any more donations at...
Read moreHere we again with the rude comments from the staff. I donât care if you are volunteering or not, learn some manners and customer service skills. Hint, if you are not taking donations that day put a sign up on the back door. Also, start with Iâm so sorry but we are unable to take that today but please come back. We appreciate you. Donât open the door and immediately yell No! Get rid of the rude old ladies. It ruins your image. Iâm never going to donate there again and I have donated thousands of dollars worth in the past. Never have this problem with the Assistance League. Even when they donât take donations that day, they smile at you and are kind. Get a...
