Great service by Rudy! Our food arrived quickly and it was very good. We will definitely come again! This was our first visit since El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant opened. This was much anticipated because we enjoyed the previous occupant as well. The restaurant had a wait when we dropped in but we probably only waited 10 minutes to be seated. The restaurant itself has a nice open layout and is bright and welcoming. Probably a good place to have a large family or group meal such as a birthday party or other celebratory get together. We sat in one of the "patio" areas inside that has been nicely enclosed with tall and light inviting windows. Our waiter Rudy was very helpful in helping us to navigate the vast menu and drink offerings which included cocktails, wine and beer. We settled on a house margarita and a El Tapatio Margarita. I later enjoyed a Raspberry Gin Rickey cocktail. These were both good, nicely garnished and arrived at the table quickly. We both settled on different versions of enchiladas, the enchiladas mazatlan and the enchiladas suizas, that both arrived with generous portions of rice, beans and a side of tomalito. The dishes came out of the kitchen quickly. We tried both the red sauce and verde sauce which were both very good. Both of our dishes were delicious and we would definitely order them again. Overall our first trip to El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant was great and left us wanting to come back to try more of the specialty cocktails and other menu items. The restaurant has nice clean restrooms too. This location has lots of free parking and is handicap accessible. There is no "outdoor" area so it's not a good place to bring dogs. They still have a full bar area so you could also stop in for some appetizers and a drink.

My husband and I were in town for a mid-week getaway, and happened upon this restaurant’s name while searching for a place to eat for dinner. The reviews all mentioned terrific food and great service, so we decided to test it out for ourselves. We are so HAPPY we did!!! The place was fairly busy for a Wednesday evening, but we were still seated within a few minutes of coming through the doors. The decor of the place was very appealing, and the staff was absolutely fabulous…very attentive, friendly, and accommodating. There are a lot of options on the menu, and we had a hard time deciding on what to order. Ultimately, my husband decided on the Pina Loca, which was shrimp, pineapple, onions, peppers, squash, a cream sauce and queso blanco, served on a hot platter inside of a hollowed out pineapple half. It smelled incredible, and for a moment, I felt sad I hadn’t selected that, too. My husband was very delighted with his choice, and I tasted it, too, and it was delicious! I decided on the Chicken and Steak molcajete. It, too, was so incredible, and smelled like heaven when it arrived at the table. The heated mortar they served it in kept it hot through the whole time we were there. It had the most tender chicken and beef pieces, with grilled chiles, a roasted jalapeño, a green sauce that was to die for, beans, and queso on top. Throughout our meal, the staff checked in with us to see if we needed anything. Our server Brooke was so wonderful. The only thing bad about our meal was not being able to eat every bite! But then, that means I get to have leftovers for tomorrow. ☺️

I’m not sure what’s changed in the kitchen over the past six months, but something has. We’ve placed large pickup orders for years, and the experience was great until recently. Last night’s order will definitely be our last. I placed a $230 order (including a $12 tip) online at 3:30, with a pickup time of 4:30, because I was with my 85-year-old grandmother and didn’t want her to wait long in the car. I arrived at 4:30 and was told the order would be ready in a few minutes, but I waited 20 minutes. It seemed the kitchen hadn’t started the order until I arrived, ignoring the scheduled pickup time. Additionally, we ordered $90 worth of blended margaritas for a Labor Day party, but they sat at the bar, melting into liquid and becoming nearly unusable. After waiting 20 minutes for the food and driving away, I received a call informing me that part of the order was missing and I needed to return to the restaurant. This wasn’t a one-off issue; my previous order also involved a long wait past the pickup time. Clearly, the kitchen is struggling to process orders on time. Given how effortlessly most restaurants handle online orders, I recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

Loud, crowded and pretty decent food! Got their before 6pm and they were trying to seat us qty of 3 at a table when we wanted a both they said they couldn't because of social distancing rules. By the time we left after 45 minutes all booths where filled no distancing any longer! The music was fairly loud so you had to raise your voice to talk to your cohorts and to place your order. I was getting a call coming in but thought don't bother you won't hear anything! Our orders came fairly fast! I was asked why type of tortillas corn or flour. I love them both so I asked for 1 of each. Both were exceptionally great! I enjoyed my steak chicana! We received salsa and chips and a bean dip too they where warm bean dip so made it irrisistable! My girlfriend ordered ice cream for dessert he asked with churro's? I said,"oh wow, you have churro's, I would like one please. Waiter brought her ice cream with like a criss cross of four churro's on her plate. I asked him may I have a churro now. He tells me we don't have just one. So he never said anything he just ignored me or either that he hoped or expected I would take from my friends plate, which I did. I didn't care for what ever the goey junk they filled it with a pudding flavor I didn't recognize. Prices where rather high in my opinion! But you go out to eat at a restaurant that's the price you pay to dine and get served! Can't say if I'll go back? Just visiting friends in their...
