I love this place. I visit here at least 6 times a month to either buy some plants or pickup some groceries. A few of the nice ladies there even know my face. I’ve been coming to them for about 4 years now and I have always loved their customer service and variety. Which is why 1 month ago, I chose to let them repot two of my plants for me (a birds of paradise and a monstera) bc they had outgrown their original planters. However, over the last 3 weeks I’ve been noticing that both plants have been getting sick. It starts with the leaves developing black spots on them to the eventually it taking over the whole leaf. Now both of my plants are dying more and more each day and I can’t save them. It’s been breaking my heart because I have had my BOP for almost 3 years and my monstera for almost 2. Like majority of my plants, I grew them all from a seed. My BOP got up to 5’3” in height. My monstera had gotten so big that it had leaves everywhere. Both plants were in very healthy condition prior to me having the young lady from good earth repotting them for me. Both plants are in the same location they were in prior to repotting. Both still get the same amount of sunlight and adjusted the watering accordingly. I have tried to come up with another reason as to why this is happening, but I can’t because my other plants are as healthy as can be. These two are the only ones that are dying off and this is like losing my child. So naturally, the common denominator is good earth. I’m not sure what was done wrong, but something definitely happened to make my plants die off like this. I took them to good earth to allow them to repot them because I trusted them. I was wrong. Now I wish i would’ve just did it myself. I’m losing my babies and there seems to be nothing I can do about it. Not to mention i paid over $70 for them to repot them with fresh chunky soil. Again, this is a great store and the people there are great, but this saddens me greatly. This is the ONLY reason I’m giving...
Read moreExtremely upset with the customer service at Good Earth. I purchased a flower basket on May 6 and the arrangement itself is gorgeous. However, I was alerted to motion at my front door this afternoon and found that one of my flower baskets had fallen 8ft to the ground because the pot had cracked and separated from the hanger and cannot be reattached. I assumed that a local company that cares greatly about customer satisfaction would have no problem replacing the item since it was defective and completely out of my control. They told me that it was my fault or that the wind blew it down (wasn’t windy, I have video footage) even though the basket is cracked and broken. I understand that plant sales are final but in this case the basket was defective and now I have to figure out how to rehang a broken basket with a bashed up flower arrangement. I am in disbelief that a local company would choose to lose a customer over a $30 item. Not returning and not recommending.
Update to company’s response: it was never offered to me that you would repot the plant. They only offered that I pick up an empty pot and do it myself. I would have happily accepted an offer for you to repot the plant but that was never stated during my call. The plant is damaged and I personally do not know how to repot it.
Also to add, I examined the second basket and found that all four mounting clips were incorrectly installed which is why the first one fell. I’m glad I found it before it met the same fate....
Read moreI would like to start my review with saying, I own a plant store boutique. I started coming to this store about a year and a half ago. I never come there because of the less than desirable staff. I come there because I love plants. Whenever I’m at Good Earth in Augusta I always spend $150-$300. But today really made me say I’m not coming back. I was watched the entire time by a woman and a man for more than 45 minutes and no one asked me if I need assistance, help or even said hello. Right before I went to check out the lady asked me if I needed help. We know bad customer service when we receive it. Then when go to check out the lady with the short haircut and all the bracelets didn’t speak . She didn’t even respond when i suggested maybe how to arrange the plants in the boxes when she was having difficulty. She spoke to take payment only. I’m saying all of this to say a behavior once can be a coincidence but repeated behaviors are intentional. The only reason I came to this store is because I love plants but after today not even the plants are enough to make me come back. From one plant store owner to another…. Your employees are a reflection on the store and culture within it. From now on I discourage anybody from shopping here because of the repeated treatment I’ve...
