Waffle House — Restaurant in Augusta

DO NOT STOP HERE!!!! If I could give zero stars I 100% would. A week ago ( from the time of writing this) I was released from the hospital after having had surgery. Father, MIL, and myself stopped in for some food on our way home (from a couple hours away) when we walked in we weren't even acknowledged after staying there for a couple min. We were very aware there was only on waitress and one additional employee cooking. Being sympathetic to that, we sat ourselves and offered to clean our spot for them, but waitress declined with attitude. So we patiently waited. Waitress ignored us, except to get us drinks, until during her passing us by for the fiftieth time, Father let her know we were ready for menus to order when she had a moment. She with a very snotty attitude told him"well Im the only one here so you're gonna have to wait" after about five minutes we were finally given menus to look at and she stomped off with attitude when she realized we couldn't immediately tell her what we wanted. Once we decided she never came back for our order. My father became irritated at the lack of service, and the nasty attitude she gave us, so we left. My father paid for our drinks and let the waitress know, that we were leaving and that she was missing out on what could have been a very generous tip because of her nasty attitude. She began to berate my father calling him names and telling to to get the f out. Ect. Then the cook joined in, without knowing what was happening, in typical waffle house fashion. A person goes into waffle house without any expectations, but the attitude and behavior of the two employees that were there was unacceptable even for a waffle house. My suggestion to anyone passing through the area would be to AVOID THIS...

I went into the Davis Road location, today. It was not busy, a few people and a couple employees sitting down on the end. I was took a seat with my book and waited for a minute. A minute passed, then a couple more. Finally a young lady comes from the back with this big white bowl and walks down to the other end with the employees who are sitting and eating. They all have a few laughs, a few jokes, she tends to a table on that end. I am thinking ok, she will finally come my way since everyone else in here has eaten. She never does. After a few minutes passed without so much as a hello, I begin to time the incident. It was now 1:40 p.m., finally at 1:51, I decided to get up and leave. Mind you I had already been sitting there for a moment when I started timing at 1:40. As I was walking out of the door, the waitress who was just walking around says :Have a great day ma'am". The black guy/employee said to her, she never ate then he yells to me "ma'am you wanted to order right?" I was too angry to respond. Not only did I not get anything to eat, my time was wasted. I was not in any hurry, however, I think my time is valuable, just like the next man. I was very insulted by this young lady telling me to have a nice day, when I had not even gotten a glass of water, fork, spoon, or knife brought...

2025-05: I haven't been able to come back to this location since my original review. But I am so glad that I was able to come in and have Skye take care of us. She was super sweet, friendly, and efficient. Thank you guys for another wonderful experience at Waffle House. Management is doing something right here.

2020: Cynthia was the best waitress I've had the pleasure of meeting in a very long time. She took very good care of my table and was enjoyable to talk with. Came on a Monday evening and it was not busy. The restaurant was clean and all of the employees were welcoming and worked hard the entire time I was there, despite the lack of customers at the moment.

This is by far the best Waffle House I've visited in many years. Even though there are a handful of locations closer to me, I will make it a point to go to this location next time, especially if Cynthia will be there.
