We chose to stay at Lone Star Court for our stay in Austin and we're so glad we did! We could've got a generic hotel, but we didn't want to feel stuck in our room. We were looking for a hotel with a home-y atmosphere where we could socialize and enjoy being outside in beautiful weather. Upon our arrival, the front desk process was super quick and they welcomed us with complimentary cold drinks. We didn't have to wait long at all. I can appreciate this after a long day of flying with kids. All the staff were very friendly and greeted us daily whenever we came and went. I loved the rustic exterior of the buildings. The grounds were frequently maintained and kept clean. There's plenty of landscaping and sitting areas you can enjoy throughout. We loved playing cornhole. It was too cool to use the pool, but it looked very nice. Every night there were fires lit, a water feature by the patio and heat lamps for cooler nights. The twinkle lights scattered in trees and above seating areas made it really enjoyable to sit outside in the evenings. The hotel is dog friendly and welcomes your fur babies. They have a sweet, friendly dog on the property. Our kids adored him. He always greeted us wagging his tail and wanted to play. Our room was cleaned and refreshed daily. I thought the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was stocked with q-tips, cotton pads, lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. So you don't have to worry about bringing some. Rooms come fully stocked with snacks and a full fridge of drinks at a cost. It's nice to have them there as an option if you didn't feel like going out. My one complaint was the bathroom tile. I thought it was black grout until I noticed the non high traffic areas had super light grey grout. So it was just really dirty grout. We wore sandals to walk around our room because the bottoms of our feet got dirty. They have live music every Thurs-Saturday in the evenings. We really enjoyed that. If you are coming here for peace and quiet, this may not be the place for you. Especially with the rooms all facing the court yard, sounds echo so it can get loud and you hear everything. We brought a sound machine along with us and slept just fine, so the noise outside didn't bother us like others have mentioned. We ate at the Water Through restaurant a few times for breakfast. The food was really good and portions were large. The servers were friendly and checked in with our table if we needed anything. There's also food trucks right outside the hotel gates for additional options. The hotel is in a perfect location right in the shopping Domain. So you can easily walk to almost everything without having to take a car. It's a nice, safe area we felt comfortable exploring even in the evenings. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back to the Lone Star Court in the future when we visit Austin again!

Update 4/2023 We returned to just stay a staycation night and was able to pay extra to check in at Noon so could spend the day shopping before the Austin FC game at night. It was another great experience and like before feels like mini resort away from the big city. The room was located on the second floor and different from last time was the floor was carpeted. No more cold feet. Like broke loved the refrigerator full of a nice variety of drinks with some locally sourced. The morning after enjoyed a nice breakfast at the Water Trough. The service was wonderful making us feel welcomed. 8/2022 This was our first time to stay at Lone Star Court and wanted to experience this place where my wife and I had tickets to the Austin FC game, and planned to walk to Q2 Stadium. Parking is available for guests in front and the lobby is like walking into a farmhouse. The welcome staff is very friendly and even offered us a drink (Music Water, root beer or Lone Star Beer). We were provided with information all about the property and amenities. I loved the way the courtyard grounds were designed and took notes for re-landscaping my own backyard. The design of this hotel reminds me my childhood past staying at motels in Colorado. It was like a postcard. There was a nice sized pool with chairs and towels provided. The place was very peaceful and quiet … We had a room near the pool on the first floor with two rocking chairs in front. As I entered the room was distinct in artistic design where it had a concrete floor, full sized nostalgic refrigerator (stocked with drinks and ice), iron bed and fixtures, and an early 20th century bath. It had a cool vibe and the hard floor did not bother me. Everything in the room worked and had daily service to replace towels and empty trash. The hotel also provided a basket of goodies for purchase. Big cups were provided pour beer into where glass was obviously not allowed at the pool. They seem to thinks about everything to make your stay perfect. There is a restaurant and house bar on site called the Water Trough where after waling in is like a big barn. They have many TVs and live music at night. We ate there for breakfast and lunch during our stay the food was pretty good. We used the pool during our stay and my wife thought it may have been heated a bit but not sure if so. I counted two fire pits and a huge BBQ pit where even purchased two s’mores kits we were busy at the game so took them home with us. It was a very short walk to Q2 Stadium so we will definitely be back again.

After a mix up with our booking at a nearby hotel, the hubby and I found this as a last minute deal. Super fun with a very Austin/Country vibe. I would recommend if you are with a bunch of friends or family. They have a lot of games and hangout space and they are pet friendly. What we liked: The staff was great! At check-in they verified that we wanted a room with two beds(guessing that last minute deal piled that). We of course did not, and they were able to find us a king bed. The room was clean and very cute. The whole location has the hip Austin feel to it. Live music was offered at the bar/restaurant. You receive complimentary drinks at check-in. I enjoyed a Main Root root beer and the hubby had water. The room had comfy bathrobes and a mini-bar. Bed was nice, not as firm as I like, but not too soft. Two rocking chairs outside the room in a porch-like setting. What we didn’t care for: No microwave in the room. No bathtub. The elevator was so hot it was almost hard to breath. Very muggy. The doors allowed lots of outside noise in. Because of the environment, there were loud people out in the courtyard until 1:00. I was watching tv so it didn’t bother me, but just an FYI. Because they are pet friendly, that means barking dogs as well. Luckily the owners of the dogs didn’t allow them to bark for too long, but not somewhere to go for a nice peaceful getaway. Definitely plan to go when you want to chill out and sit in the rockers , play corn hole, shop the Domain and hang in the bar. We would definitely stay here again, maybe with friends or family to enjoy the whole experience.

I have an Executive Board meeting that brings me to Austin on a reoccurring basis. Since my very first stay a few years ago, I’ve fallen completely in love with this incredibly authentic hotel! During my latest stay, Drew (front desk associate) was invaluable to my stay, from personally helping me with my luggage, to ensuring that my room was “feather free,” to even hand delivering me another key card when I was inadvertently locked out of my room! Not only did Drew provide these services, but he did so with an incredibly wonderful attitude and smile. I’ve stayed at a number of hotels in Austin over the years, but Lonestar Court ranks superiorly high on my list! And that says a lot when I have enough points to stay at an alternative really nice hotel for free and choose to stay at Lone Star Court! The location couldn’t be any better, as it’s central to wonderful shopping, dining, and entertainment! Speaking of entertainment, I’ve been able to catch some very good live performances at their restaurant/bar The Water Trough. The fire pits and s’mores are a must do! But, probably one of my favorite things is sitting on the patio and rocking in my orange rocking chair! I highly recommend that you stay a while and if you get a chance, take a dip in the pool and check out the awesome food trucks just outside the gates of the hotel. While there, don’t forget to ask for Drew!

Maintenance double tapped on our locked door and walked straight into our occupied room one evening to replace a missing lamp we never called nor were aware about. My repeated asking him to not come in was ignored. I had to put on pants and take the lamp from the guy to make him leave us alone. When I complained to the front desk about the unprofessionalism of them walking into peoples locked rooms while someone like me was changing, they kept repeating the maintenance guy had knocked ‘twice’ in that half a second. Unbelievable to shrug off their guest privacy concerns so easily. When wanting to perform evening non-critical maintenance in someone’s occupied room, the appropriate thing to do is to call ahead and let them know of the planned evening visit. Otherwise knock and wait for the guest to answer the door. This wasn’t a broken water pipe requiring special circumstances, he just wanted to install a desk lamp. Guest, be careful to do the slide lock when in your room until they change their policies. ————————————————— Otherwise this place is really nice. All of the little details from the decor, bathrooms, and outdoor sitting spaces are done incredibly well. Very affordable for the boutique, hill country experience.
