As I entered Gallery Art, I noticed the "Salesman" Mood heavily ingrossed in Text Messaging. I know it's 2012, however, a polite smile and I'll be right with you would have sufficed. I inquired about having my art collection appraised through Gallery Art. I received some information inbetween the sending and receiving of texts. When I returned to my home, I thought it would be best if I called Mood on his direct line and discuss the additional documentation I had found. Little did I know, over 45 minutes later, he would be heavily ingrossed in his sending and receiving of text messages. Mood remarked "Robert, I told you to bring your paintings in" and I am on the other line dealing with a $500,000.00 client. He went on for an additional 15 minutes about his qualifications and my collection. I politely reminded the gentleman that he had a $500,000.00 client on the other line that he clearly had forgotten about and ended the "education". Needless to say, I've had my art appraised and sold through a different dealer. Lastly, I should have text messaged Mood and informed him I would not be needing his services, however, I assumed he had not finished his conversation with his acquaintance,...
Read moreGallery owner, Ken, is extremely rude. Do not waste your time here. My husband and I spent a couple of hours flipping through art in the market for an original Peter Max. Chose a few pieces worth tens of thousand of dollars. The owner told us we could have 3 minutes or his time. He started by telling us he wished he was back on vacation and he continually tried to make "jokes" about how we didn't need to know the dimensions of the painting vs our wall space, telling us how to hang a painting and that his consultations should be $300 per hour and that he has hardworking employees that he doesn't know what they do. Never actually addressing our actual questions or taking the conversation seriously. Trying to be friendly, I laughed at said "jokes" but he aggressively told me to stop laughing every time. Never got any useful information and ended up leaving and purchased original Peter Max artwork elsewhere. He may have nice artworks, but could not support such a rude...
Read moreI have ventured into this gallery on many occasions as a customer and enjoyed the experience. This time, I entered as an artist and dealt with a pompous, rude, demeaning manager or owner. I introduced myself as an artist. The female employee started to engage me in conversation and was instantly and rudely directed to be quiet by her superior. In a condescending manner, he waved his hand around the gallery and asked me where he we put my art. I asked about their online presence and was given a pen and told to look up the listed website. He told me that they dont sell much photography. I asked if there were other galleries he suggested and was rudely asked if I knew how to use Google. I do not know if this owner/ manager/ employee was trying to play the superiority card, was having a bad day, or is just not a nice person. He successfully demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism, disrespect to his staff, and tarnished the gallery name. He should be...
